I used to get upset when it came to paying for shipping, but as you mentioned, it can really save you in the long run. 1) no gas used 2) saves me time(I don’t have to get myself presentable to the public) 3) I don’t have to encounter road rage from the crazies, and best of all 4) I can cozy up at home with a cup of coffee, knit and have a favorite yarn just show up at my front door! What could be better than that!! Happy knitting!..🙂🧶

Same here - if I place an order from my couch, $7 is a fair price to have it end up at my doorstep. 😂

Look at you, knowing stuff! That makes sense. Doesn’t explain the bulky yarn, but I like the pattern anyway! 😂

I don't know about the mic, imo you usually sound clearer. Your Constantine turned out really nice but your Jupiter crop 😍😍😍. I had a plus-sized friend with a big bust, and she used vertical bust darts and horizontal bust darts, but I don't remember the reasoning behind which ones she chose for which project. The Midsommar Tee says right in the middle that it was published June 2024, so you picked something fresh! My husband and son listened to "So Here's What Happened" with me to hear my story. 🥰

Ahhh Devin as usual I love the podcast and always want to comment, but weeks go by and I don't (sort of like that email thing getting away from you). Anyway, it's fairly quiet today and here I am. Funny you mentioned walking and knitting because I do that! I walk outdoors 15-20 miles a week and while I love it, I'm also reminded that it's cutting into my precious knitting time. When weather forces me to walk on the treadmill, I always knit. But I am too afraid of falling to knit while walking. Until last month. I was injured and had to walk slow so I took the knitting and it worked! I'm getting used to it and getting faster and loving it. I've had cars drive by and stop to stare at me. LOL. I carry my project in a Binkwaffle small dumpling bag. I love your idea too. I thought the same thing about the Midsommar tee. It's cute, but I do not want a worsted or bulky tee. To be fair, Caitlyn lives in Alaska, so that might work for her. Someone mentioned knitting Digory from the top down. A trick I use for sweaters is blocking part way through the process. For example, with Digory, knit to where you think you want to start the sleeves. Put it on a long cord and steam or wet block. Try it on. Also, lay it over top of a sweater or shirt that is the perfect length and compare. That's a good way to make sure you get the proper length on a bottom up garment without trying to convert it to top down. I think Amazon has ruined us all to paying shipping. I like your perspective. Not only does it save on gas, but it's also convenient. I feel comfortable ordering from you and not seeing it in person because your photos are very accurate. No surprises. The yarn I get is always as pretty as in the glamour shot. Thanks for that.

Some of us older folks are rather fond of crochet too. My mother taught me to crochet at 9 years old. That was 55 years ago and not many days go by that I don't crochet, even days with broken arms, lol.

I walked to a school bus walking and reading at dismissal as a kid. While I can knit and not look at it my track record makes me a little nervous to walk and knit. But I love being able to knit and not look at it. It means I watch my kids who can swim but prefer to mimic frogs or dogs than doing freestyle.

Great podcast as usual! Thank you for all you do for the yarny community! I personally didn’t think you needed to change mics, however, if you mist, this one was not the best as there was a good bit of scratching sounds heard. Have a great Independence Day!

For me the microphone was tough to listen to. At first I thought you sounded congested and worried you were sick. There was a lot of crackling going on too. I don’t mind the way you were doing your podcasts before. It’s great that you’re doing new things but I think the microphone this week needs to go back to Amazon. 😆😂 This is a running joke in our house. When it’s broken we yell out “send it back to Amazon!”. I’ve told my son that and he’s told me that when I’m cranky. 😂 thanks for your show I love watching weekly, God bless you and your family.

Love listening to your podcast when I am knitting or crocheting. The baby knits are soooo cute!! Just wanted to comment about paragraphs, being a older school teacher. Some people are picture learners and do well with charts, others are very verbal and do well with paragraphs, so it is important for pattern designers to include instructions for both learning styles. If the chart is unclear, a person can read the instructions to clarify. Does that make sense? Regardless, I am very impressed with Gigi's knitting skills at such an early age!!

I don’t knit and walk or knit and read (reading with my eyes in the regular way - I’m not talking audiobooks here.) Knitting and walking: I’m a natural klutz and don’t need to give myself a reason to trip and fall. Plus I like to walk and look and listen to nature. Also, I usually walk with my husband and I want to interact with him and not my knitting. And we both use walking sticks, so my hands are not free to hold knitting needles. Knitting and reading: I have no desire to combine these two favorite pastimes. I think trying to knit while I read would just frustrate me and take away joy from both of these hobbies. Neither one would be as relaxing for me.

Midsommar is the Swedish spelling of Midsummer (and probably there’s a pronunciation difference too.) There are Swedish traditional festivities involved in the mid-summer season. There is a horror film called Midsommar. But I can’t recommend it. It would be interesting to read Caitlin’s intro to the pattern. Have you seen the tiny mic 🎤 that E uses on the red carpet? Just need one with your logo on it.

Midsommer is an old spelling (Midsommer Night’s Dream). Maybe bulky weight works in Alaska. It looks like a nice pattern but too heavy for an actual summer tee.
