I am the Sue of today’s knitting stories segment of the podcast. I had my husband watch that part with me. He said, “It’s kinda funny now that you are over it, huh?” To which I replied, yeah…as funny as the time you lost the John Deere in the pond! He just groaned and left the room!

Sue, I confess that I was giggling as I imagined a yarn trail running all the way from your house to the coffee shop. I know that’s not the reality, and I would have been devastated.

In 2024, I am focusing on “WIPing my knits” to reduce the number of WIPs I have (including caked up yarn in project bags). I started with 23 but am down to 19, and I am feeling good about that. I have a couple of friends who are doing the same, and we are all each other’s accountability partners. I have been good this year so far. I highly doubt I’ll finish them all this year, but if I can get to under 10, I will feel very accomplished. Good luck with your WIPs!

Wow, I gasped at Sue’s stories. I can’t imagine! Also, imagine as a knitter coming across a lost project like that, especially one on the side of the road! Your Jovis duster looks amazing. So professional and chic, I love it. I’m glad you mentioned your Peony balm, I have a tin of it that’s about half gone. I just love the scent..sometimes I just open it and breathe it in for a few minutes. It’s aromatherapy!

The story from Sue was heartbreaking-I would be so upset if I lost all that stuff. Charlotte was adorable as was her presents to you. Treasures to keep for a lifetime.❤

Ugh! Poor Sue! As for your hand balm - I've done the same thing. My nose was so cracked and dry from having a head cold. Knitter's Balm to the rescue! It works like a charm to soothe and help heal the dry nose!

I also have the never-ending-yuck. Sick of being sick. It does give me more time to knit tho. Charlotte is such a joy to watch, you are blessed! Your duster is beautiful. And Sue! 💔 how devastating.

Your duster is GORGEOUS! I would love to knit it myself, but I’m sure it would be a long term project for me. It definitely looks worth the time though. Beautiful and so flattering. ❤

DEVON I wish I could come to the meet up! My husband and I lived in NOVA for the first year of our marriage. One of my best friends had her bachelorette party at Sunshine Ridge Farm and it was so fun! I hope you ladies have just the best time ♥️🧶

Thank you for putting up your podcast today even though you’re a bit under the weather. Our visit is something I look forward to and I’m sure many others do too. When something is lurking around that makes me feel off I’ve found upping my zinc/copper supplements helps. Fun fact, I have taken enough zinc in the last few years that my all silver hair now has a dark brown streak! Oh I understand lost things. I lost my husband’s Bible for several months. I was so sad every time I thought of it because his notes and underlined passages are a little way I can feel his ongoing presence. One day when cleaning the car, I found it!! The slim volume had slipped way under a back seat of the suburban.

Your duster is amazing! I don’t want to knit a sweater that long, but I’m glad you did. 😊 Oh my, I have an embarrassing number of languishing wips, and here I sit crocheting a baby blanket for an upcoming baby shower while the 2 or 3 wips I said I would finish before starting anything new are laying nearby. Oh poor Sue! How awful to lose a whole bag of knitting stuff at the beginning of a trip! Hope you feel better before your trip and you find your cowl.

Thanks for the podcast. Oh Sue, so sorry for the bags that you have lost especially for the needles. I haven't lost any but there is always a chance. I am working on a sweater, the Weekender and the got ribbing completed only to see that forgot to go down a needle size. I just can't watch sports and knit. Some day I will learn. Devin have a wonderful week and a fun time next weekend.

Glad you're feeling a bit better Devin! You sound better this week! Something I've figured out since covid is that gargling with warm salt water 4-6 times a day, as soon as I realize I'm sick, is almost miraculous in how much faster I get over sore throat, cough, congestion (and that general icky, tired, sick feeling) and get back to normal. I think the gargling washes away a lot of the viral load on the mucous membranes. And I love that you talked about balm helping your nose! It's so true! TMI but I've actually got a designated stick of lip balm to use on my nose whenever I have runny nose because using the stick is so easy to apply in between blowing nose. The duster is gorgeous.....can you even imagine how stunning a duster in your Valentine colorway would be!?

As always, a wonderful podcast! I look forward to it every week. Your duster is GORGEOUS!! And it looks so great on you. If you ever find other beautiful, two color colorwork sweaters, please share! Unfortunately, Elenor only sells on Ravelry (I messaged her to ask) and I am not a member there.

Thanks for another great video. I had to laugh. Last time you talked about icords and I was knitting an icord edge at that very moment, this time you mentioned a pattern by Eleanor Mortensen and I’m in the middle of knitting the beautiful Lorien sweater by her. Looking forward to the local meet up in march. Anja B.

I’m new this episode to your channel and I about dropped every stitch on my needles when I heard you mention the NoVA towns where I live!! I will see if I can make your meetup but I am a caregiver for my husband and I do t have support on weekends but I do bring him to OBriens pub on Sundays 5-8 to play Irish music! You should come out!

Enjoyed the podcast. I must say I identified with Sue. I have not lost a project bag as of yet‼️🙏🏻 I do, however, never pay attention. I am hoping this story with chapters helps me to pay attention, at least to my knitting. So very sorry Sue❣️😢 Love the duster💖

I absolutely LOATHE the hexipuff. Think: Green Eggs and Ham, but with the hexipuff. They simply make me want to run screaming from the room. Last year, I made the Herbalist Swancho by Olga Pultano. It was a lot of work, but worth every single stitch.

Devin, I'm such a slow knitter that I'm still doing the #fosettealong. Is that over?😘 Oh and thanks!! Now I'm definitely changing my name to 'Languishing WIPs'. It's perfect for me!😎

Gasp! Sue's project mishaps are a Shakespearean tragicomedy for sure 🥹. I might be emotionally able to get past losing a ball of yarn but a loss of my precious needles would be a nightmare; 😩 I think I would have to sign up for therapy. - Devin, your duster is lovely! I pray you feel better and back to being your young self soon.

I’m with you. Two colors - one in each hand - is ideal for colorwork. I do not enjoy more than that. I’ve tried the yarn guides you put on your finger. They don’t work for me. About “So here’s what happened” - I audibly groaned as you read these stories. 😮 So sorry, Sue.
