    Update on my comment: I just finished knitting mine. Feeling pretty accomplished right now, not to mention that it’s pretty stunning-getting a lot of compliments (would be more but COVD). THANK YOU SO MUCH for this tutorial. Suggestion for those ready to dive in: Note the stitch markers between each pattern repeat. These will save your life, so use them with abandon. A little practice before going “live” on the yoke is very helpful (maybe 20 rows is enough.)

    I made this is a brown Mountain Meadows wool and was entirely through the yoke, which was accidentally perfect, when I discovered the dye lots were very uneven. Should not have been the case within a single dye-lot. I was very disappointed but finished the sweater mixing balls of yarn. In the end it was a course and inappropriate yarn for this elegant pattern. If I were mobbing sheep the yarn would be perfect, but not for Undulating Lines. So I am making another version in a soft Cashmerino blue color. Much happier with this softer, more elegant yarn, but it put me off Mountain Meadow yarns. Dharma Trading, famous for fabric dyes, is my local yarn shop and they were mystified by the uneven dye lots at MM. I may decide to re-dye that sweater but am living with it for the moment. The pattern itself is gorgeous and this video is very helpful. Thank you VeryPink Knits for your clear instructions

    I have been trying to reach you regarding the "Undulating Line" Pattern, sold by Mountain Meadow Wool. I am confused at the point of German Short rows. 1) When you first begin row 1 of the German Short rows, the pattern calls for 19 stitches, are the remaining stitches of that row worked simultaneously, along each round of knitting. Or are GSR knitted separately from the other stitches called for in the pattern? 2) Also the marker at the beginning of the GSR row (center marker), should the 19 stitches be divided between the center marker or Do I just begin knitting 19 stitches of the GSR at the start of marker of the first GSR row 1?

    This is a great sweater and really helpful tutorial. I have a question about your swatch, Staci. It looks like the swatch was knitted in the flat, is that so? I've heard from others that one should swatch in the round for knitting in the round; do you not recommend that, and if not, why?

  • @verypinkknits

    @verypinkknits

    3 жыл бұрын

    I have measured my swatches both ways, and my gauge doesn't really change between the two. I know this about myself, so I always knit flat swatches. Really, with a 100% wool yarn this nice, tiny gauge issues are non-issues. Wool has enough "give" to smooth over small tension issues.
