Love it! So thankful that you cover all the little wonky things that I’ll encounter. It’s nice having them all in one place for a pattern. ❤️

Adorable pattern. I've knit countless baby / toddler cardigans & I always rework the pattern to knit the back & fronts together up to the armholes.

Is this sweater knitted with circular as I never knitted with DPN’s? I want to knit a sweater for a 4 yr old and 7 yr old. I just finished the Christmas Stocking. This is my first experience with your tutorials and pattern. I loved this experience. You are a super teacher. I didn’t use the DPN’s for toe section. I used circular needle with a 80cm cable.

I’m really looking forward to making this! One question, could I use a tubular/Italian cast on? I really like how that looks with ribbing.

Yes - no problem. You can easily change the CO to a tubular CO.

What color is your sample? This is perfect timing - our baby boy's coming in August and I've been looking for relatively simple projects. I have seamed sweaters a couple times but think it'd be great to improve my skills with this little project. Thanks so much for doing a detailed tutorial!

Super grateful for this tutorial! Im curious to know why the designer chose to put some st on hold and then bind off 6 for the neck shaping/hood instead of just putting them all on hold. What's the reasoning?

You can contact her directly if you like, her name is Vanessa Ewing. My guess is this...the held hood stitches provide a clean line between the neckline and the hood, and the BO stitches provide two things - a little more structure between the hood and neckline, and a bit of shaping before you get into the sloped decreases.

On the third page of the pattern, you'll see "Begin" and "Back" and the instructions are there for casting-on for the back of the sweater. If you require pattern support, please email the designer directly, thanks. :)

Inexperienced knitter here so I may be wrong, but the hood looks very big compared to the body. Just want reassurance that it will be ok?

  • @verypinkknits

Yes - the proportions are good for a baby. Babies have huge heads compared to their body size.

I wanted to buy the pattern, just the pattern. It seems like they can not figure out the postal payment. I wonder if it was possible to get the pattern by email? I would only need the pattern instruction.

why not block before seaming??? on hood, she skips the whole part about increasing on the hood?? eek , would have liked to see that part. Instructions confusing. Also no mention of pockets???
