A very enjoyable first podcast. I love that your an English knitter, which to me means when you mention yarns, I have a good chance of being able to purchase them. I’m a new knitter and last year taught myself to knit Norwegian style ,courtesy’s of Arne and Carlos! I do sometimes change to English as I sometimes find my gauge is looser when knitting Norwegian…..I expect this is down to inexperience.

On congratulations on learning! Regarding yarns in the UK I am making my way through a lot of drops yarns but have others in stash which hopefully will make more of an appearance soon!

What a wonderful first podcast! I also find myself making at least a few modifications to almost every pattern, usually fairly little things, that just make it suit me a little better. I loved your joy at getting gauge with the recommended needles! I almost always have to make a few attempts before I get the gauge (and the fabric) I want.

I know! Reels have also taken over the algorithm so for that reason sometimes it makes photos seem less important which is sad!

Hi there, just found you and loved your podcast. So nice that KZread actually gave me a new UK knitting podcaster, it seems to throw up a lot of Canadian or US based people (not that there's anything wrong with that but I feel the UK deserves a hit of the algorithm). Really impressed with all your knits, especially the mitts and that cute baby jumpers. Totally going to steal your mitts pattern, I think they look great. You have a new subscriber here and I look forward to your next episode. ❤

Thank you! I think it's important because the climate can differ in the UK and when you're talking about knitwear it's something to consider plus the yarn which is available to us is quite different sometimes. For the mitts I have linked a free pattern in the description which is a great guide if you're not using your own already! See you next time.

I absolutely love your hand dyed + mohair cowl! 😍 It looks so romantic! I actually have yarn for a Lento Sweater with two skeins of hand dyed and I’m so interested to see if I’ll actually like wearing it. Just like you, I have not done a garment with hand dyed and I’m unsure if it’s my jam or not

What a enjoyable first podcast - I love your creativity and might just "borrow" a couple ideas from you. I am looking for a basic crew or v-neck sweater and trying to decide between Stockholm and Chestnut, but a modified Poppy tee will be great at a larger gauge. What a cute baby sweater! I like the moss stitch on the side panels... gives it a beautiful detail.

Chestnut sweater collar is something I want to add to my next piece! I've finished the poppy tee now and it definitely works as a jumper! Thanks, I still need to finish the baby sweater, I'm most excited to see how it washes up and hopefully softens a bit!

Could you take video of you wearing the finished pieces so that we can see them? And if it is a wimp, posting a photo of what the finished piece by designer looks like would be so helpful.😊

Hi, I'm a new subscriber. I have really enjoyed watching your first podcast. You mentioned that you are now a continental knitter. Did you watch any particular podcaster? If so, who was it, please? I have tried many times but failed 😂 Thank you keep up the good work 👏

I wish I could remember but I'm sure I watched so many. The technique itself isn't too tough it's pursuing it and keeping at it. After a whole garment it becomes so much easier! Same with learning the Norwegian purl. I hated it at first but just kept going until it stuck and soon my tension sorted itself out. I don't know if it makes a huge difference but I guess it's important to keep in mind I'm also ambidextrous 😕
