🐸🐸 I love that you decided a project wasn’t working and ripped back and saved your yarn. Makes so much more sense than forcing yourself to finish something you won’t love.

Great to see other knitters 🐸 instead of push through and not end up wearing the item. I have just learned to do that myself. Thanks for keeping me occupied while I knit.

It’s been a very wet summer in Vermont, so we have a number of 🐸 here! Finnish knitting stories once said, if we frog some thing, we should focus on the fact that we get to knit with a yarn that we love twice!❤

Everyone has been knitting the mini mock tank! I love her patterns because they are so well written 💗 If I were in your shoes, I'd finish it and give it away because your issue is with the color. Nothing will change that, but you can see if you like it enough to make it in another color. 🐸 🐸

Jess they are so well written 💕, I’m looking forward to casting on a cozy classic raglan soon
You do so much and have 2 kids. Amazing. 🐸 I know that feeling, when a garment just does not feel/look right and you are almost done, I tend to finish it anyway. 😅

Thanks I often carry around my knitting and sneak in stitches when I can, and knit when they are in bed 😊
Hi Lauryl, I just wanted to agree with the frogging when your not comfortable with how a project is knitting up. I frog heaps and have no regrets, I have more regrets when I don't frog. I liken it to shopping for clothes, most clothing stores I walk into, I walk out of empty handed. If I don't need it and I don't love it on me, I don't buy it. It's the same with my knitting, I know me, and even if I just like it somewhat, I'll only wear it a few times, or I'll force myself to wear it and hate it. I want to love what I make, because I'm sick of trying on outfits in my own wardrobe that I dont like or feel comfortable in. That's why I started knitting in the first place, to make my clothes how I like them. Thankyou for such an honest approach to knitting. Enjoy the 🐸

🐸 I'm one of the newer viewers. Your podcast is inspiring, not only regarding yarn and patterns, but also the way you talk about your thoughts about them. Thank you. If you don't think you're going to wear the mini mock neck tank or have someone in mind you can gift it to, I think you should rip it out and use the yarn for something else. It's basically free the second time you knit with a yarn 😉

🐸 Love your channel! I'm at least twice as old as you, and at this point, know what looks good on me, and what to stay away from. I do try to knit big pieces in neutral colors, and save my color pops for shawls and smaller things. That's my mindset at a ripe old age. Also, you can ALWAYS give your pieces away if you don't love them...somebody will be delighted to have a handknit gift. That said...hah...knit whatever makes you happy!
@westmaven

I love that! I am drawn to colors that I won’t always wear or that may not be super flattering, using them as a pop of color might be a great way to use them thanks for the advice💕

Hi! Glad to hear everyone is feeling better. Dealing with sick kids when you don't feel good is RUFF! I was working g on a heel flap during this episode. Ok...frog the tank! Just frog it. You don't like the transparency of the yarn, the fit is not what you like and the combination of fit and color is EVERYTHING in a hand knit. It's so totally ok to frog it. I think your gut instinct on going for the raglan is better. You have enough for a sweater and by the time you finish the other 2 black tops fall will be right around the corner! I love that Joji shawl. Super cute. You should finish that one off and put it as an FO on her summer KAL. It's any Joji pattern it doesn't have to be Myak yarn. So, my order would be, frog first, finish the Joji, do the 2 black tops and cast on a ranunculus. Just kidding about the ranunculus just wanted to see if you would laugh. What a fun give away! The colors are not my jam but it's nice of you to share. Someone is going to be really happy with it. Bye

Sorry...I feel like I always write too much... I wanted to add that I get the FOMO thing. It's hard to see so many things that we know we can make and we want. Who has that much time? I wish I did! I don't go thru the FOMO thing anymore. About a year ago I was rushing to make as much as possible so that over winter I could wear all my stuff. I was casting on too much and not finishing anything. Holidays came and I was just too busy. Around Valentines I was starting to finish all of my projects. I decided to take a look at why things took me so long and it was mostly me going oh, that's so cute I could knit that...oh...that's cute too...everyone is knitting that... So I decided I need to be more me. I like what I like. I don't look good in the same thing everyone else does. I would be happier making things I love on MY body and not just the hot now things. Every time lately that something new drops like the bandana I really think...is this something I'm actually going to pull out to wear? It's super cute but no, I'm not. I like shawls and I need a shawl. Not a mini. I don't mind the time it takes to knit the shawl. When it's done...it's glorious! It's not always easy to just be yourself when you see what everyone else has but in the long run it makes me more calm.

Heather I love you comments keep them coming they really make my day! Plus you always have great advice! I really think that Fomo leads to overwhelm and I have to remember to check in with myself the reality of ever wearing the item. I think yarn collection, knitting, pattern admiration are all their own hobbies. 😉 Also all shawls all the time I’m onboard ! I’m trying to decide now if I will do the west knits mkal now I get crazy Fomo and and undecided when it comes to the finished item but I sure do love the challenge and excitement of it all

I love the west knit stuff but tend to do his patterns in black, white and grey. I like the style but not always the color combos. I'm not fond of mystery knit alongs. I have to know what I'm walking in to. Good luck. I'm off to cast on a ranunculus. J/K gotta finish a pair of socks first.🤪

@westmaven It is so important to get gauge and to read/ follow the instructions, unless I'm going for a different look or fit from what the designer intended. Some designers are just so much better at pattern writing. Every time I knit an Isabell Kraemer design it always fits perfectly. Wish that was true of all designers

I tend to knit a ton of socks through the super hot weather, when we get into early Fall then I start knitting sweaters again. I will take a day or two to think over a project that “isn’t working for me” or if I try things over at least three times, other times if I just stop on a projects for up to six months - I know I just don’t want to continue with it and then I will frog it 🐸

🐸 I enjoy your videos very much 😊. I am overwhelmed with how many projects I have yarn for, and yet again today i ordered a kit for a KAL...serious FOMO here. As I'm watching, I'm actually ripping out a Dingley Dell by Isabel Kraemer that I knit last year. It's never been flattering on me at all. Ive hesitated to rip it out because it felt like a waste....but it was already a waste if I wasn't going to wear it. Then I saw a recent Joji shawl pattern, and could totally see it in this yarn 😊
