    Have you thought about maybe creating an Amazon Wishlist of supplies you need like, saw blades, sandpaper, screws or just anything you need to do the work on the trailer? That way fans could help out that way too.

    That's actually a pretty brilliant idea. I know you can donate through Patreon, but then Patreon gets their cut, whereas an Amazon Wishlist would essentially be a no-fee option. It would also give a stronger sense of participation (for example if you buy a $15 saw blade that makes an appearance in one of the videos you can say "hey I bought this!", something you couldn't do had you made a $15 cash donation instead).

    As Knight Rider fans from Australia, definitely loving being able to tune in to see the dedication and commitment to one of our favourite TV Shows of all time and seeing how awesome it is to find the original FLAG Truck and Trailer, so you can restore it back to its original glory!! Far too much history has been lost over the years with so many different things, so to see these kinds of fantastic projects keeps inspiring people and in the process, generates more and more interest around the world. We will do our little bit to promote this project to as many Knight Rider Fans as we can from Australia, New Zealand and abroad! Cheers guys!🌏

    Many of the lights were under warranty when sold so the date code might still be on the back of them. Some were burned into the plastic and others were printed with the old dot matrix air jet printers. A lot of these manufactures are still in business if you need help deciphering the codes. The crossover line you put on the tractor could be incorrect for the period. Most fuel and air lines should have been Stratoflex lines with DOT numbers on both the lines and fittings. Any line, fitting, light or various other things have got to be DOT approved and are stamped stating so.

    Just to confirm: Yes, in California, the plates go with the vehicle when it's sold rather than staying with the owner. (I've found that people out here are often a bit baffled about the idea that the plates might stay with the previous owner!)

  • @True_Knight

    @True_Knight

    Yup. Plates belong to the vehicle, not the owner. The only exception is personalized plates. Those belong to the owner and can be retained and assigned to a different vehicle.

    Don’t sand the paint inside the trailer, first try and use a steam gun to lift it without sanding and it may or may not be totally successful but there’s a chance it will work and might Reveal some interesting original feature, worth a try in my opinion, all else fails you can always still sand it later 👍🏽

    Looking at a few stills. I think the secondary ramps that came out worked on a ladder like idea. where you have two pulleys and a fixed point. The winch would pull in and that would extend the ramps. when it was going up You would have to have the winch in reverse so it would go out letting the ramp in due to gravity.

  • @XqeDiosxqe

    @XqeDiosxqe

    2 жыл бұрын

    Exactly what i was thinking.....you can clearly see the ramps begin to extend out when ever the rear hatch was opening.,.... hence e the reason why each ramp has its own winch and it could be seen on trailer till this day.

On a side note regarding the colour of the trailer, I've just rewatched the first couple of episodes from the first season (Bad Day at White Rock and Slammin' Sammy's Stunt Show Spectacular) and the trailer is actually painted white so I suppose that technically you could leave it white and it would still be correct to the show

    Just a note... DOT front and rear lighting is a light near the left width edge, three in the center and one on the right side edge... The show lighting is not DOT if it was just three in the center and you'd be liable to get some serious tickets if you took it back on the highway without correct lighting.

    Looks like the studio put that L-panel in there to meet up with the ramp for the show. How it is now is probably more like the trailer would have been. That L-panel could have been getting rusty by the time they came to do the new ramp which might be why they decided to just get rid. The markers from the show being different also point to this because those three in the middle may have always been there, covered by the panel then the outers just added rather than throw them out with the panel.

    That new door is actually a bit taller than the Knight Rider door, I've just rewatched the older video showing how the trailer floor has been altered so the door is mounted 4.5 inches lower than when on the show, but the gap at the top is only 2 inches, meaning the door that's on there now is about 2.5 inches taller than the old door that was on the show, the extensions that come out the door on the show also had to be there because the trans am has quite a long nose and a low ground clearance, if the extensions was not on the ramp the trans am would catch its nose on the initial approach angle and probably ground entering the trailer at the top of the ramp

    Yes in the state of California when a license plate is issued to a vehicle it stays with that vehicle regardless who owns it until the new owner turns the plate in to get a different license plate. Now if it's personalized plates those plates stay with the owner and can be transferred from vehicle to vehicle.

    Definitely draining in the humidity to work on anything. Need something to drink after that. It's neat seeing the close up details of the trailer. I'd like to know what the decal is of the girl and beaver where on the rear door when the race team had it.

    Those hydraulic rams and pump may have been those used for raising and lowering the original rear door / ramp.

    Hi Joe. I can't wait to see what other facts and opinions you have on the FLAG Semi trailer. Maybe some of KITT's scenes to replicate? How about more at the lounge? Who knows what else is here? Just blast me something related to the show. Thanks!👍

    Jeez…I sat through this whole video and not one nude photo…but I am glad you upgraded the crocs! Just kidding but great video as always…I hope the trailer will be ready for the 50 year anniversary.
