If people knew how long this took there wouldn't be any thumbs down. Looks great!
My six year old wants to build machines when he grows up and is constantly assembling chain reactions. He just finished his 100 book booklist so I showed him this video and then gave him his prize; a garbage bag full of used K'nex pieces. He is now happily building away, set on making a complex machine of his own. Thanks for the inspiration.

Glad to hear it! Good luck to the little guy :D
At first I thought: “Damn, 18 months! That’s a long time.” After Watching: “This person is an insanely fast worker.” The amount of creativity and variance in this build is astounding, the film work is excellent; really gives you a grasp on all the different parts. It just wowed me at every turn, constantly one upping itself. I have immense respect for this video and it’s creator, and I hope this gets a lot more views.

Thank you for your kind words :D
This should be displayed at the Boston Museum of Science. They have a crazy version of this type of machine must be 25 foot tall on display for decades.
Invention of the mind with the awesome power... The Power of K'NEX!
the ferris wheel that powers a lift, the ball rolling on an instruction book, the amazing elevators, the thing that looks like the symbol on the command key of a Mac keyboard are just a few of the incredible features

The spinning quad looping is amazing. Well done! Also the video is well edited!
Great effort. Great setup. Enjoyed watching this video. Samuel Hunt - stay awesome!
this is unbelievable!!! SUPER!!! Congratulations!!!!! SUPER!!!!!!!
The time, thought and effort put into this working contraption astounds me.just mind blown.definately n obsession n labour of love.so satisfying to watch.kinda reminds me of how da vinci saw the world.he described it as simple complexity.a series of simple things, arranged together to make more complex things.ive always wanted to make one myself.and i bet this all started as a small thing.and wound up as what we see here. #thenexuslife 👌👍👏🤝
I am so disappointed i didnt have this as a kid
this must be what happens when you give a DARPA employee k'nex to play with in his spare time
It's a Magic Lottery! Excellent.
I love looking at all the working parts and the structures. Keep it up!
*building rooms were not harmed in the making of this video and machine*
Everybody leave a like for the shear amount of work put into this beauty

This is actually a very impressive ball machine. Also the biggest one.
Amazing. I saw your computer too. That was even more amazing, because of the logic and the Boolean Algebra that was unseen to the naked eye, but a very integral part of the design.
ingenious!! outstanding!! and amazing!! definitely the best K'Nex ball machine I have seen to date 👍
Very impressive! Love it!
Normally I would say "get a life" but I see you already have one. Great work!
This video should have gone viral

Very nice video and fun to watch. Simply amazing work of art. Have a nice day.
LEGO wishes they could be this cool.
You are brillant! So much energy in this. You should win a price for this!
I'll bet much of the time spent on this contraption was put into this wonderful camera work! The whole thing is absolutely incredible. Thanks for sharing!

It was not too bad actually! The editing took ages!
this thing is beyond the word badass, he should put the instructions online and all of the pieces he used online too so people like me can make it too
This is incredible. Congratulations.
Thats freaking totally insane, SO DAMN COOL!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty creative use of wheels to provide momentum and to control inertia... :)
Insane is an understatement. Some of this music had a Daft Punk kind of sound to it, which is awesome. The Nexus is Knarley. Thanks for the upload =)
Wow, just........ man that was satisfying..... Sweet work.
You didn't name it the K'Nexus?

This was a lot cooler then the computer which i thought was extremely boring.
It's so satisfiying!
This definitely needs more love and views.
holy crap this is huge
Tolles Ding!
wow thats amazing
That thing’s huge!
This is a whole city itself.
I love how Path 8 on Network 2 has a chain lift that only connects to the motor and moves when a ball comes and hits the trigger. That’s not seen on many ball machines, as most just run all the lifts constantly.

Epic!
Pretty sweet dude. Seems like knex ball machines have been slowly dying out. I got a half finished one thats been sitting for over a year. I ran out of pieces and never really got around to scouring ebay for more.

Yeah seems that way I can remember there being a new one like every couple of weeks. Gumtree has been the best way to purchase k'nex recently!

This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Does anybody know any place where you can order specific pieces in specific colors at a reasonable price? I would like to try making something like this (obviously I won't do it this good, but nevertheless you have to start somewhere).
New update for minecraft looks cool...
I remember these as a kid, the best i ever built was a ferris wheel llol
🔥
Wow. How long did it take to design (not build but the actual designing of it)? So many complex parts, it must've been a nightmare at times. I wonder, did you have to plan on what sections to build first (considering the size of the project and some elements appearing to be way hard to reach)? How did you manage it. 2 years well spent I can tell you that! :D

I spent a long time (maybe 4 years) building prototypes and watching other people's machines - building up ideas. I was at uni (for 4 years) so had no space to build anything. I built the entire structure first, I had already built the rotating lift so that required a lot of space. then all the lifts got built. I had to move some elements around to get to the hard to reach places! I built all the elements as i went along for the most part! thank you for your comments :D
i've seen some other ones that I thought were crazy but none of them compare to this
Incredible machine! I love the passion, creativity, ingenuity, and hard work that went only this project. Just curious, how long did it take to make those images where everything is black/white except the network you’re highlighting? That sounds like a lot of time spent going back and forth between the machine and photoshop.
