    There was a Rhoads ball machine at the museum where I grew up, and whenever we would go I would always go over to it and watch it in amazement.

    I remember one of these at a mall in Carlsbad back in the 90s as a kid. It was a two story build with 2 separate levels like the mall was, and the top part was a Giant Clock. Both parts used Billiard balls.

    One of these sat in the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC back in the late 80's. As soon as I heard all the noises it made it brought me right back to watching it in person! Thanks for posting

    What I don't get (yet) is how the ball can go in different paths in repeat runs. How does the contraption introduce randomness?

    It's a little hard to see in the video, but there's sections that divert the ball into different directions.
