I wish I would have found the Amazon reviews prior to getting this. In 36 hours it pulled less than an inch into the tank. It does not run as the specs state. 27 ounces daily with a coverage of 480 sq ft. No way these specs are accurate unless my unit is defective. It under performs big time. Also this guy in the video, his humidity is low 40's LOL That's a perfectly normal range. In automatic mode it wouldn't even be running. It states that it shuts off under 50%.... in Automatic mode...

It depends on the condition. In testing, it said they used 86 degree Fahrenheit air at 80% relative humidity. That’s roughly 30 degrees Celsius with 80% relative humidity. The hotter the air, the more moisture the air can hold, therefore the machine can get more water out of the hotter air with the fan running at the same speed. As the temperature of the air gets higher, the capacity can increase dramatically, so the machine can pull more water out. You can think of the air as a sponge that increase in size depending on temperature. As it gets bigger, it can hold more water. If it is at 80% RH, it is like 80% full of water. Pretend you squeezing the sponge is the dehumidifier. It’s easier to squeeze water out of a full sponge than a slightly full sponge right? Also the fuller sponge gets more water out. In the end It’s more of misleading testing than your machine being faulty.

@@kevinlin2473 do you think this would control rh in a grow tent in humid months??

Eric, what were your conditions when you used it?? I need it for high levels in a small enclosed space.

@@plantlove5257 Yes it should work when in small enclosed spaces. The auto mode keeps it under/at 50% Rh. With the hydrometer varying - or + 5% Rh, it should keep it around 40-60 on auto at worst but it said keep it at 45% Rh to 55 Rh.

I’m not an expert on grow tents at all but I know moldy plants are not great and dry plants are no great either. So if this works for us, it should work for plants because plants and humans usually like around 40-60% Rh

What is your overall opinion of this dehumidifier? I have tried several pelter semi conductor type dehumidifiers, and none have worked effectively like a compresor based dehumidifier does. I see this one on ebay and want to get one.

Still use it. Is it the best one out there? Probably not. It works to fit my needs.

Depends on your application. Peltier type dehumidifiers are for very small well SEALED spaces, I use mine in a small closet where I store my guitars in the Canadian winter so they don't dry out and crack. Compressor dehumidifiers is the type you need for a room, apartment, or floor of a house. This unit will do practically nothing in a room larger than a walk-in closet (with doors closed constantly).
