    I love my classic rock and metal. I've very excited to get these. I'll be running them with the RP-600M and the 504C and the Onkyo TX-NR696 which I basically meant for the Klipsch line of speakers. It should sound incredible with a small amplifier. Great review. New sub here.

    Hard to condense what I would like to say. I love these! Had many speakers through the years and managed to compare these with several known speakers. I use them with a sub but they do very well even without. They seem to be less dependant on back wall positioning than most others I have used. There is a natural balance to the sound not unlike a few Monitor speakers I have liked. Listened to a Broadcast of a concert and really enjoyed all the detail and clarity - they do need a little while to 'burn in' but were soon really singing - still good straight out of the box though. For me they are the sweet spot in this range of Bookshelves

    Thanks for the excellent review. Your comments are in line with CAM’s review of the RP500m mk1 being notably better than the RP600m mk1. It interesting that the 500s of both generations have a better synergy when compared to the more expensive 600. I have owned a pair of 600m mk1 for a few years, and since building a set of Criton 1TDX, I have retired them to my home theater. But they will never leave the stable!

    Hi all my opinion: the high dynamic capacity of klipsh transducers usually generates hissing "S" and listening fatigue with low quality recordings. A big help in this case are tube amplifications, but which nevertheless have difficulty in controlling the modularity of the bass notes. I personally believe that combining horn drivers with traditional drivers, passive crossovers are not the ideal solution because the transit phase is perceptible.

    You could try this if you're wanting to increase the stereo image, get some stiff card 4-6mm thick cut it half moon so it's covering the woofer and coming in where the tweeter and woofer would meat have the widest part about 4" of its radius where the straight parties bend it 90°about an inch and make a brace by bending another piece of the card into a triangle attach with scotchtape/sellotape this to the centre and the lip you made, attach the card to the side of the speaker with a bead of blue tuck make sure you massage the blue tack first, place one on both sides. Should enhance the base a bit as well. Could try the card straight at the bottom and only bend at the top what will enhance a bass more. Have you tried them on there side or even upside down?

    Ok my first impressions: racial appearance and almost perfect sound! I would wish a more base, dense sound but horn tweeter does great job here - this is a star of the show and I like it much! and after first run it doesn't seem bright, we have details and sound is smooth for sure. If I have to compare these to for example quad S2 heh - no chance to listen them without eq! at first start! (I assum that we have got usual, budget equipment..). I think I could live with it and enjoy listening my favorite music..but knowing life...😉

    I doubt the RP500M will play louder than the LS50s if driven by a very capable amp. I was blown away when I hooked my LS50s to my JC1 mono blocks to see what they can perform like when the amp can keep them in perfect control. I fed them well over 100 watts and the LS50s stayed super tight and clean at an insane volume for such small speakers. If small amps are used, then the RP500M should play louder than LS50s due to higher efficiency.

  • @Tharbamar

    @Tharbamar

    Yes it will play louder than LS50 does not matter what amp you use, don’t take LS50 too high regards because of physical limitations, I had every generation of LS50 even Meta bottomed out with my amplifier just passed 9:30 position on volume control knob, by the way I had pretty much all all Halo series as well but probably never again.

    I own a pair of Quad S2 as well and would highly recommend them for a good quality music such as high resolution electronic, pop or jazz. They are indeed very revealing and that might not be so good for poor quality music, especially metal etc. On top of that Quad S2 have a very nice and textured base, something I have honestly never heard before. The are also very clear but it's not like they are V shaped or rolled of in any part of the spectrum. All is very neutral but the sound gets even better when paired with REL t5x. I would also like to mention that the sound changes when paired with different amplifiers. I tried D class at the beginning but I must say they are even more enjoyable with class AB such as Rega Brio or Elex-R which I am currently breaking in :) And the last but not least, it's recommended to use some professional jumpers like Tellurium Q Black II instead of the original Quad plates connecting binding posts at the back of the speakers. Happy listening! :)

    Klipsch delivers excitement and engagement. But if the source has more high then Klipsch can be fatiguing. Thus need to place the speakers outward.

    I did particularly mentioned that if you like old Klipsch sound you may not like them in this video. BTW: Nothing is terrible in modern day audio products it just your personal preference is all.
