That LED strip used on the bow works very well.
I look forward to following your build of this kit.
Cool! I have this kit in my stash, this will be good reference material for my build! Thanks for sharing Chris!
Great video, beautiful model kit, can't wait to see the next part 👏👏👍
Great video- I’ll be watching for the next one for sure!
Looks great. I really enjoy your video's
gonna be an awesome build , love it .
Welcome Back Chris. This looks like a great model. You've inspired me to do the 1/350 Enterprise refit. I'm using photo etch for the first time; I'm also going to attempt lighting, if I can find a kit. Finally I'm going to aztec it as well, if I can find the masks in stock somewhere. So I've got the next few months of my life planned. I'll be watching this build eagerly.
Always look forward to your builds Chris !👏👏👏
Thanks for the broad reference! I've had this unscratched itch for a few years to build a cardboard model of one of these original Klingon battle cruisers from Star Trek - The Motion Picture. I've always thought these ones were the coolest looking Klingon ships out of all of them, even the bird of prey. So! After the X-Wing I'm building, and the Milano from GOTG, which I have lined up next - I might have to delay my Back to the Future Delorian and my ongoing, in he background, hugely challenging Smaug cardboard models and tackle this Klingon ship instead. I haven't watched the vid yet. I'm only about three minutes in, and already you've provided some great detailed structural shots of the resin pieces. Thanky, Sai! Ok, back to your vid.
Shame you are restricted to using the lighting kit, I feel that you would love to add a ramping up Torpedo firing LED. But aside from that I know you are going to make an awesome job of the painting of this kit.
This video is awesome! I recently got one of these for Xmas from my mum as I hinted at wanting one. Doing research on some tips an what not an happy to see someone with experience using the stuff I have bought, lets me know I'm on right track 💪🏻 I'm keen to see how this one looks when you finish
I am so glad that the Ktinga got so much more realistic with the window scale as compared to the D7. The TOS Connie, and the D7 both had huge portholes. The Romulan Warbird was the only firs TOS design that was more realistic with the Porthole scale.
did you know the detail they added to the real studio shot model wuz thought that it would be needed but in the end they did not shoot a close up of the bridge
Very nice!
👍
Looking very menacing already 😀 Please be careful with the Maskol, if you leave it on for a long time it becomes tricky to remove.

Yea, I'm well familiar with it. Thanks for the look out though. I'm at a stage where I've already peeled it off. Next video. 😀
I guess I must've closed my browser before submitting my comment this morning, so I'll try again. I started this kit when it was first released. I wonder if the photoetch band across the bulb has been updated? I had drilled the plastic windows out wider like you did, but when I laid the PE band across them, the windows on the PE didn't match the windows on the plastic. The PE wasn't the same size, either. I gave up in frustration. I know that Boyd/Trekworks saw what happened to mine, so he avoided the PE when he built his. I think perhaps the folks at Polar Lights may have also seen what happened with my build. This kit has been a shelf queen for the past few years now, but watching your video is making me want to get back into it. Good job so far!

I was not happy with the PE myself. Had no choice but to use it after cutting out the lower windows around the sphere. I however, did not use it on the top 2 bands of windows.
The red window ring is not the bridge, it is the windows for the sensor tower.
Awesome start. Looking forward to the rest of the build. Just out of curiosity, was the photo etch window strip supposed to be laid over the kit parts or replace them?

Laid over. I didn't use them on the top windows. I actually wasn't that impressed with them.
This will most likely be my 5th 1/200 scale 3D design and print. I am on the Romulan Warbird now: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oZh30Klwj7zcerQ.html
Did you attach the led strip to the light kit wires?

No. They were directly attached to the 9v supply.
