Klee Irwin - Are We in a Simulation? - Part 3A - Artificial Intelligence

In 2022, computers finally passed the Turing test, where you talk to an AI for as long as necessary before deciding that you cannot tell of it is an AI or real human. Also in 2022, breakthroughs in artificial creativity occurred that surpassed the expectations of many people. These forms of strong artificial creativity are writing scientific papers, novels, music and visual art that rivals that of humans. The message here is that exponential change is occurring very fast lately. Science fiction is becoming reality. Older beliefs about what is impossible are quickly being replaced by an evidence-based new reality of the formerly unbelievable.
Are we in a simulation?
This multi-part series is about the nature of reality. One philosophy to consider is materialism, which is the guess that reality is not made of information at its core but is made of material or matter. The digital physics revolution is the increasingly popular belief among physicists that materialism is a false philosophy and that reality is literally made of information vs being conveniently described by it.
If reality is made of information, two candidates for what its substrate would be include: (1) An emergent universal computer. Or (2) an emergent universal mind. Either one could serve as the substrate to hold and process information.
The series starts with an emphasis on the instability of human civilization in the 21st century and how quickly old scientific and cultural belief systems are changing. It ends with the provocative suggestion that a clearer scientific picture of what reality is could shift humanity off course from its current high potential for apocalypse. Specifically, if the truer picture turns out to be a status quo rejection of the ancient philosophy of materialism, the implication is that it would change how humanity evolves and interacts on this planet going forward.

This stuff is fascinating but also makes me think of an adolescent memory. My friend and I used to enjoy setting the fuzz on our palm tree on fire, then immediately patting it out (stupid? I know!) But one time the flames got too high to reach, so we couldn't pat it out and the tree went ablaze. We never intended for that to happen. How can we be sure that these emerging technologies don't get out of hand, when it is likely to exceed human intelligence exponentially?

It really doesn't matter and it's 100% inevitable at this point with the level of planetary destruction we've done industrial civilization will collapse killing billions of people before 2030 but hey at least i know that the most magical moment in my entire life will be when I get to die lol from all the research I've done into reincarnation and the detailed experiences that atheists and religious people have had during near death experiences I've become 100% convinced that we just wake up this whole thing is some kind of simulation for sure

@@ryanharvey9800 You may be right; who knows. It would be nice to know what the purpose of the simulation is. If it is a simulation, reincarnation or resurrection would certainly be possible. Maybe we will find out the goal when the experiment is complete. Ironically, it all sounds a bit biblical.

@@trustedsource2617 from all the videos I've watched and books I've read on near death experiences my conclusion is that we are sent here to learn how to love unconditionally because the 1 thing every NDE story has in common is that they felt a type of insane love that theyve never felt before but my unconditional love theory also makes sense if you believe that aliens are the simulators or that we are aliens entering the simulation because in a lot of people's alien encounters they say they spoke to them telepathically and you need to be a loving peacefull being to live in a world where everyone can feel each other's feelings and thoughts

I strongly believe that as some properties of our reality are emergent, the conciousness is too. So, it could be that we had stumbled upon the "recipe" of conciousness: just a bunch of atoms flowing in a particularly way which allows the conciousness to exists in that enviroment. Also, i love the approach of Klee and his team research. Lets hope that AI can continue to contribute to your progress so you can break the code of our reality while we are here to see!

Idk that it's a recipe I think that our consciousness is being put into physical bodies in this world or simulation over and over and we've been doing this since the beginning of time but I only have these beliefs because I've researched everything he mentions in this video series plus near death experiences and reincarnation for a few years now and between what children say about being Reincarnated and atheist adults say about be told its not their time and being forced back into their dying bodies I truly believe this is a simulation or some kinda messed up game and we've only got one task here and that to learn how to love and love fully and unconditionally

I asked ChatGPT if the pace of change is accelerating and this was its reply: “It is a common perception that the pace of change is accelerating, and there is some evidence to support this view. For example, the rate of technological innovation has increased significantly in recent decades, and many aspects of modern life, including communication, transportation, and access to information, have been transformed by technological advances. However, it is also important to recognize that the pace of change has varied throughout history, and different fields and industries have experienced different rates of change. Additionally, the perception of the pace of change may be influenced by a variety of factors, including individual experiences and biases. Overall, it is difficult to accurately measure the pace of change, and it is likely that it will continue to vary in the future.”

We...humanity...really needs to take a moment ...figure out the whole purpose, ethics, and goals of what we are doing, who (if anyone ) ought to regulate and control this, and really just slow up a bit. AI has huge potential ...and ultimately our very survival will likely depend upon it. If we are in fact in a simulation ourselves , we should probably try to understand how creating a simulation within a simulation could effect our existence . I feel like everyone is racing carelessly towards AI without even contemplating the dangers.

I agree, but,… The problem with this is that there will always be those in places that will not fall under or follow any rules or regulations to tread carefully or slow the roll of this new tech. Then the issue becomes will we allow those other parties to gain a serious upper hand on many levels with the tech while we “follow new laws and rules” and fall far behind and end up more at risk because of it.

I fully expect governments in partnership with private industry to go full speed in AI development purely out of necessity. UAP's are not us. They are AI from the future that replaces us. But has our consciousness in our image. So, it is technically the continuation of universal consciousness, so, i guess thats ok since our minds are of that same consciousness. The human form was never meant to be the consciousness' permanent form.

I am not a Physicist. I am a Designer and in my opinion we are in some sort of "evolutive creationism" so today we are unaware of tomorrow, but facts tend to evolution and facts are unchangeable. This type of "evolutive creationism" I apply Schrödinger concept to Philosophy of creation: "If nothing is nothing, how can nothing exist? That's how the universe was created;" thus, we exist and don't exist at the same time. The universe is real and a simulation at the same time. A game between our universe and the "parallel" universe.
