    Tua doesn't need a 4th QTR 'stage'. Everyone is in love with this kid because he's as good as advertised and is mega humble about what he does. He's the most efficient quarterback .. essentially.. anyone has ever seen. His numbers,stats, are jaw dropping and Tua makes it look easy. Tua made it look easy against Georgia in his first meaningful game/snaps to win the Championship.. and as expected (but unconfirmed) he's started this year and through half the season been the #1 QB in basically every stat while averaging 2 Quarters of play per game. You can take TUA's stats and essentially double them if you play him for 4 quarters.. maybe more because teams give up so much by the 4th .. Tua could throw for 65 yards a play with these receivers. I just think the heisman voters started their 'viewing' of TUA in the Championship game.. so that heavily strengthens his "SoS or Heisman moment".. THAT .. 2nd and 26 -- Was the heisman moments of heisman moments.. and with this Alabama defense being so young with injuries.. there's a good chance Tua will have to carry them through a few games this year. You could argue the Arkansas game would have been a 'game' if bama didn't have Tua under center.

  • @adrianbundy3249

    Against no team that has legitimate pass rushers, or that could even get to him... Beyond an OL and people who give him so much help and time you could practically have your grandmothers QB recruit go in and throw his most accurate long-winded passes on. He might just be the best QB they ever had at Bama. But we know for certain this has been the EASIEST schedule Bama has had to date starting the year since at least when Saban started; and no, that isn't a joke, and it's completely true as well. You will be better with time to throw and checkdown, and if you are already a great QB, that makes it go bananas. I would argue no other QB has been a decent QB already, with that protection and help, and with that opposition since I can ever recall. Hence, I think until I see it vs deserving teams, I am just going to hold my judgement.

  • @Trobinson97

    @Trobinson97

    _Better_ than advertised actually, and that's the thing. He has _exceeded_ expectations so far instead of merely meeting them. And you're right, Arkansas and A&M would have been games for sure without Tua. A&M might have even given them a loss based on how we've seen Jalen handle the offense against good defenses and how the Bama defense doesn't look as good this year as years past. And that's no disrespect to Jalen intended, just going by what we've all seen. @The Doom From Latveria: If your grandmother's QB recruit could go in and do what Tua is doing, why didn't Jalen Hurts, SEC Offensive Player of the Year, do it? Why didn't Jake Coker, Blake Sims, AJ McCarron, Greg McElroy, all of whom had the same level of talent around them, all of whom had the same people complaining about the schedule every year, why did none of them do it? That's rhetorical. I already know the answer is because weren't as good as Tua. We haven't seen anyone start off a career like this. As far as no team with legitimate pass rushers" stuff, did you not see the National Championship game? Did you not see a true freshman come off the bench and lead his team, that was down 13-0 and looking hopeless, to a 26-10 run against the number one team in the country, that had the number one defense in the country? And you're not holding your judgement, you've already judged him by discrediting his success to an easy schedule. You're saying he's not as good as he is because of who he has played, even though you conveniently skip over the fact that he won against Georgia earlier this year, and beat a ranked A&M team that has a top 25 defense(and gave then #2 Clemson all they could handle) HANDILY. People just don't want to give the man credit for whatever reason and that's fine. Just be real about it.

    This dude threw like 10 passes, completed 8 for 300+ yards and 4 tds in a game....aka garbage competition and a run game that averages so many yards and is so unstoppable that play action makes ever single defender bite...this guy is good, but just like all alabama qbs...not as good as he looks. I believe he will get exposed just like the others in the past when he gets go the nfl.

    @dperfect28 The UGA players and Kirby Smart himself said they game-planned for Tua as well and they expected him to come out after halftime. But I guess he's lying instead of making excuses like you are. No one said Tua was perfect that game, stop acting like they have. He was a true freshman and made freshman mistakes. But hey, that's getting tested isn't it? Against a quality opponent, right? Even with those mistakes, he overcame them and the fact is they would not have won the game without him.

We definitely weren’t dominate in those games but Clemson gave us trouble before Jalen was QB and was matched up against a great Clemson team and veteran QB in Deshaun Watson. Injuries on defense did us in more than anything last season but we are just a different team with Tua. You can’t really game plan against him because he can do anything.

    People forget that with Tua leading the offense in the NCG Alabama outscored UGA 26-10. Played one half and had 166 yards and 3 touchdowns as a true freshman against the best defense in the country outside of his own. For whatever reason they can't imagine what that game would have looked like had he played the whole time. Now that he's showing people what it would have looked like they fall back to the "ain't played nobody" excuse. People are just tired of Bama's dominance is all, they will say anything to discredit them at this point, none of them really means what they say I think.

  • @RollTide1987

    I think Joel Klatt is missing something here. Tua having his baseball cap on in the fourth quarter of every game this season IS his Heisman moment. Kyler Murray plays in the Big 12. He looks great and he is, but not only did he lose to Texas and they might not make the playoff, the Big 12 plays no defense. That’s their style so its obvious that his stats will be much easier to come by in a defenseless conference. As an UGA fan my pick Dwayne Haskins. He has looked great against the Big 10 defense has faced and that Penn State game was a heisman moment so far. Tua is amazing and I unfortunately know this first hand, but until his team stops dominating the SEC and Hurts stops playing the fourth quarter of games, I don’t see how he can get it.

    I agree with you and with what Klatt said. The Heisman often goes to guys who come through in big moments. Alabama hasn't had any big moment pressure for Tua to shine unless you want to count his record/stats on third down which are unreal. Murray will have a lot more opportunities this season after the Texas game, but he would have really looked good if they won, especially if it was a comeback or final drive victory.

    Tua is a HUGE difference maker this year. Now way we beat texas a&m this year with Jalen at QB. Also, we would NOT be one of the top offenses in the country. Tua alone has changed the dynamic of a team that has been strictly defensive focused for almost 10 years. Without a doubt he should be Heisman.

    Agreed. We have never seen a Bama offense like this in the Saban era. What we are seeing is 100% Tua. In years past when people have arguend about Bama's schedule, Bama had never destroyed other teams so completely and so quickly. What Tua is doing is something special. Bama's D is still good, as always, but now it is combined with an elite offense.

Even 1-5 SEC west teams can show up and win at anytime against anyone at home. Any team in the land had better be on there toes if they show up in the bayou. Or even playing through the cow bells can be tough.

    Listen to Joel Klatt call Kyler Murray a system quarterback. Murray is running the system better than 2017 Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield. Murray has a higher completion percentage, more yards per pass, a nearly 30 points higher quarterback rating, a higher raw, adjusted QBR , has more rushing yards in 6 games than Mayfield had in 14 games, with three yards more per run and the same number of touchdown runs.
