Hm, the split coil in both positions and the humbucker in neck position was OK, I guess. But many of the settings was nasal and dead sounding. And it sound a bit artificial and cold. Not to fond of those Fishman pickups. Totally agree that they should look again at those pickups and get some passive pickups and have an passive/active switch. And I'm not sure that bass resonates well, so you might never get a warm tone out of that bass. That carbon neck come with a tonal price to pay.

Yeah, in most positions it sounds out of phase and thin. But neck humbucker sounds allright!

It's not the Fishmans, it's this bass. They sounded awesome in a Schecter SLS Elite 5 I tried.

It sounds like the pickups are out of phase with each other on this one. These basses sound great in every other demo I've heard.

If you can, would you be able to do one of these on the Luna brand electric bass?

I have one of their ukes, and it is the best uke I personally have ever played; VERY curious about my next bass being a Klos...not so much now - great construction but sounds not so great - It's their first year, so I will look forward to the improvements. I do understand the "characterless" issue with carbon fiber instruments; they essentially sound as good as their electronics. I play a Modulus Genesis, which is often thought of as an ideal combination of materials and electronics.

I play a Modulus q5 and I agree with you ,graphite as clear and sustaining as it is ,its really dependent upon electronics ,not overly impressed here either but i would think if you loaded one of these up with active emg's or Barts and throw a brass bridge on it you MIGHT have a Modulus equivalent at nearly 1/4 of the price ,seeing as Modulus (not Geoff Gould) is only producing a handfull of instruments a year at 7k + with months of waiting time ......,this bass could potentially be a contender in the graphite bass market

I built a parts bass from a Warwick Streamer body and an ESP neck and installed Fluence pups and electronics and it sounds worlds better than those in the demoed bass.I think they sound like they're wired out of phase or just wrong.Mine give me a myriad of deep usable sounds.None of that weak nasal tone.

Hmm. Didn’t really do much for me, tonally. I recently bought a Sire M5, which is also very lightweight, but it seems far more versatile than the Klos. I can dial in tones similar to my Fender Jazz, but the humbuckers can also provide a nice Musicman kind of growl. On top of all that, it can be used in passive mode. Of course, mine didn’t come with a gig bag, and I don’t think I’ll be trying to pop the neck on and off, but I doubt I would anyway. Anyway, thanks for making these videos. They’ve got a lot of useful information in them, and they’re entertaining, too.

Everyone and their mother is reviewing these things, I honestly don’t get it myself and don’t really like the sound of the stock pups, but a Seymour Duncan, EMG or Fishman swap really wakes these basses up like you have no idea.

Uh... NO! Nothing stands out as useful. I have a Squier Contemporary active that blows this out of the water for tone.

I have to concur with other comments. I find this bass sounds quite simply unlistenable. It’s nasally.....harsh...lifeless....characterless and lacks that warmth that we look for in a nice bass. Not for me. I couldn’t even get to the end of the review as I lost interest in it so I have no idea how much it costs?

It’s around £1500… 👀 A different choice of pickups and electronics is essential in my opinion. Hopefully that becomes the factory option sooner rather than later, for everyone’s benefit! T
