80s kids also had it worse than future generations in many ways. Hell, I had to dig through an encyclopedia to learn anything. Education is way more fun and interesting these days. The 80's were different. Current generations are different. Each are better and worse in different ways. Just because something is different doesn't make it worse by default.

@tonyreaudio6579 No, unfortunately, those days are gone. The 80s were wild. The scene will never be matched again. The music, the party scene, the concerts, and the money that was made in the industry were phenomenal. Today, tours are being canceled because of the cost and not enough profits involved. Back then, we bought the whole album and not just a song or two off the web. It's gone it'll never be like that again.

As far as mainstream music goes, you are absolutely right. Mainstream (chart topping) rock at that time actually took talent to create and the songs often had some sort of meaning or soul. Also, even popular groups didn't try to be so formulaic. I'd also include some mainstream rock from the early 90's. By '94 or '95 mainstream radio (rock radio) started going down fast.

At the end of last year, I was in a very dark place. I sat on the floor of my closet, crying and wishing I could disappear forever. I fell asleep that night on the floor of my closet. The next day, this song popped up on a playlist I had created years ago. Then Silent Lucidity came on. My dad has always sang that song to me, even before I was born. It was the universe saying it would be ok. I now have a reason to live. She will be born in July. I sing to her all the time. Please, if you are depressed or feeling like you want to die, please talk to someone. Your light still shines so bright. Even when you don't see it.

People think suicide is always a mentally ill person taking a permanent way out of a temporary problem. I have come to believe that some people at a certain time feel their life has been completed. They have done it all, etc.. theres nothing more left to do really at a certain point. Society makes us think differently, dating at a 150 ( lol) or whatever all sorts of illogical foolishness. Not condoning it or saying I am.. just easier to understand that way. Further more the person is gone and the answer is they were nuts or mentally ill? People!....lol

@@marswmnwhoever2188 Excuse me, what the hell are you trying to say? I’m guessing that you haven’t been through this before or yet. Do you think committing suicide is easy, yes some people have mental issues, I honestly don’t think a sane person would do it, and it takes guts to do something like that. Sorry to say this to you, but you don’t know what in the hell you’re talking about.
We did our homework right after school if we weren't on a school sports team so we could get into the local woods and creeks to have beebee gun wars go swimming and otherwise just have fun and mess about in our woods and creeks. Kids these days will never know that type of freedom, sadly.
I would put this song right next to the biggest hits from the 80s. KIX was an awesome band !!!
My dad dedicated this song to me when I was born, I weighed 3 pounds I could fit in the calm of ur hand... I had a bad respiratory infection.. I almost died.. ty whoever above saved me.. I Love you Daddy!

I've never told anyone in my adult life, except my best friend, I played this song on repeat when I overdosed on pills when I was very much younger. Blessed I wasn't successful I have my beautiful 16yr daughter & my handsome adult 3 sons. God blessed me instead of taking me. Now I can listen to this song & I've let many many ppl know they're not alone. That's the meaning of this song, you're not alone, hold on there is ppl that love you. Very deep song...

I am blessed with my children & I've been to a couple of their then teenager friends funerals from suicide that they were successful & I've watched those 15, 16 & 17yr olds grow up from 3yrs old. I couldn't have ever forgiven myself if I hurt that many ppl. They were great kids, very talented kids with very brite futures. Again, thank you very much. In this big huge world, somedays I still feel very alone.

I'm 60. So glad I grew up and was a young adult in this Era. Watching bands, playing in bands, no social media. No cell phones. Just a phone call to your besties and meeting up later at your favorite spot to watch local bands or play a gig... We truly had the best music. The metal scene was fantastic.
