Lyrics:
I don't wanna hear about it anymore
It's a shame I've got to live without you anymore
There's a fire in my heart
A pounding in my brain
It's driving me crazy
We don't need to talk about it anymore
Yesterday's just a memory
Can we close the door
I just made one mistake
I didn't know what to say
When you called me baby
Don't say goodnight
Say you're gonna stay forever
Oh, whoa, all the way
Can you take me high enough
To fly me over (fly me over) yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over
Yesterday's just a memory
(Yesterday's just a memory and)
I don't want to live without you anymore
Can't you see I'm in misery
And you know for sure
I would live and die for you
And I know just what to do when you call me baby
Don't say goodbye
Say you're gonna stay forever
Oh, whoa, all the way
Can you take me high enough
Can you fly me over (fly me over) yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over
Yesterday's just a memory
I'm running
I was running for the door
The next thing I remember
I was running back for more, yeah, yeah yeah yeah
Don't say goodbye
Say you're gonna stay forever
Oh, whoa, all the way (all the way, all the way, yeah)
Can you take me high enough
Can you fly me over (fly me over) yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Can you take me high enough
Won't you fly me over (won't you fly me over) yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa

I wish people would just take a second to remember how intense the radio was in 91. I literally remember sitting there hearing High Enough, Lithium, Enter Sandman, and Even Flow in one sitting. The radio was on a total different level back then.

+chabadoogi Today it is 100% different!!!!!!!! All radio station go 100% for ratings - PERIOD!!!!!!!! So to get higher ratings they will play a good guitar ballad, then a soft rock song - then a country ballad- so that EVERYBODY will wait their turn for a descent song!!!! They would rather have EVERYBODY listening for 30 minutes - than the entire world listening from 15 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!! It is all about the NUMBERS - they don't give two shits about the music they are playing - RATINGS - RATINGS - RATINGS - RATINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

+chabadoogi If that was your experience in 91, you were lucky. Here in South Australia the radio was SHIT! Even the two stations (1 local, 1 national) that did sometimes play metal only did it occasionally, and most stations were the worst kind of commercial, wimpy, yuppy, pathetic pop and regurgitated soft-cock rock travesties that you could not imagine even in your worst nightmares. In '91 I was an angry young man!!! And most of it had to do with Adelaide radio.

Whoever is reading this, I wanted to say I hope you have a great day and that God loves you so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to die on a cross for your sins and He rose again from the dead three days later. God Bless! And also, He doesn't want you to go to Hell, but He wants you to go to Heaven with Him but you have to be Saved. How do I get Saved you might ask? Here are the steps below on how to get Saved! 1. Believe that God sent His Son (Jesus) to die on a cross for your sins and that He rose again from the dead 3 days later. 2. Confess to Jesus that you are a sinner and ask forgiveness for your sins and Turn away from your sins. If you sin again after asking forgiveness of that sin, ask forgiveness again and try not to do it ever again. Jesus will forgive you! 3. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and your life and for Him to be your Lord and Savior forever. 4. Build a Personal Relationship with Jesus by Praying and Reading the Bible daily and Live for Him Forever. I'm Praying for you and you are loved! (Romans 10:9-13))

What happened to the music industry to drop melodies? This song is pure gold compared to 99% of the harmonically incompetent trash in the charts of half of the world. Something obviously went totally wrong.

Millions of us still listen to this great music. There are still a lot of great new bands, but its not what sells. Kids dont know shit about music
This song has got to be one of my all-time favorites, if not my very favorite song! Every since my cousin introduced me & my sisters to MTV, I remember the first time I saw this music video, I was instantly hooked. I never get enough of it
The chorus brings tears to my eyes. The way the notes hit. Holy crap. There’s just something about it that gets me right in the soul.

Thank God I was born in 89 and got to fully experience the entire 90s it was truly a special decade to be a kid. I really do feel sorry for my children that they have to grow up in a truly evil world nowadays. It kinda makes me feel guilty in a way
I remember when rock radio announced in 1989 that the guys making up Damn Yankees were collectively coming together to start up this new "super group". I knew before even hearing their first hit that it was going to be epic just based on how much I liked the work of all the individual members from their previous bands. Well, the results wildly exceeded my expectations and the rest is rock history for us to still enjoy today!

Arguably the MOST underrated band in the 90's. Incredible voices like Queensriche and Van Halen.
Did anyone else get chocked up; when they sang " Yesterday's Just a Memory " thinking about how long ago it was; when this came out. Who I dreamed about back then. Who I shared 1 night with; then never saw again. Your smile & kiss becomes just a whisper in time. Your parents house isn't even there anymore.
