I love how Freya came in and looked at Dexter like boy you need to settle yourself down I am not having it with you.

Oh wow, it's been a while since we saw Dexter. What a gorgeous hunk he's become! A grumpy, grouchy one, but hunk nonetheless.

Dexter is one of the most beautiful cat I have ever seen.

Dexter's tail is MAGNIFICENT

I was expecting to see Uncle Buster make at least a cameo appearance---"Hey guys, what's all the fuss about?" 😊

So good to see Dexter! The kitties are getting cuter by the day! Now that Uncle Dexter has made known the hierarchy, he’ll make fast friends with the fur babies. ❤

How handsome Dexter is now, he'll be a big boy when he's full grown. I think he did really well for his first introduction to the kittens. They're all growing soo fast. What a beautiful bunch they are.

Never forget that Dex is the newcomer among the adults, so he's not as well established. In addition, this is his first exposure to kittens. He'll come around.

Such brave kittens! I'm amazed they stayed close and never hid from Uncle Dexter's growls. Also, Freya stayed so calm!

Mr Big-ole-hissy-fit seems to be more unnerved than the kittens.

Am I sensing a bit of 'But I'm the baby," from Dexter or does he just want to investigate before saying hello. The kittens are very brave.

Dexter is a still kitty too. Although he is hissing, he is doing a good brother job. I am so in love with Dexter.

Dexter makes Buster look like a really nice guy! Galileo is one cool kitten and looks like his uncle.

Dexter’s coloring is gorgeous. I’m surprised Freya didn’t step in and set the boundaries. I remember when she put (I think Dexter, maybe Orion or Sirius) in their place when they were on the shelves on the wall. Those little ones are all so adorable.

I just love the way they all looked at Dexter “what’s your problem?”, and didn’t move, and often just ignored him. Ada is one tough little girl! And Freya, who figured it was a good chance to grab some food while the kids were otherwise occupied… aren’t cats just the most amazing creatures? And your gang is mesmerizing. 🇨🇦💕

Dexter was certainly vocalizing his displeasure, but he wasn’t looking like he’d take action. Owners were petting him and he wasn’t reacting negatively to that, plus Freya was giving him a “you behave now” look but wasn’t going into protective mode.

Uncle Dexter being mean to the babies. The baby turned around and said, okay maybe another day. 😂😂

Dexter is huge!!! That tail is stunning. He’s only nine months and they grow till five years of age? Holy Moly. He could be bigger than Buster. Wow! He’s a bit on the grumpy side but it won’t last long! Is the growl anger? Warning? Unhappy? Scared? All of the above? My Lucie growled at my Bella, her half sister. They did not like each other. Lost Lucie in November at 14 years. Bella is a completely different cat now. More affectionate, clingy. She is relaxed knowing she doesn’t have craws and teeth coming at her. The kittens are not bothered by Dexter’s growls and hisses. That’s good. I think for the first visit, it went really well! ❤

Wow has Dexter grown!! As I shared in survey regarding his name..his name needs to be Dex. Actually he looks like a Dex!!😊. Uncle needs to be saved for the patriarch, Buster.. I felt a bit nervous thru video..Dexter is so large and noisy and the kittens small..but I was so proud of the kittens..Isaac seemed be the only one that hid and it was Galileo 'The Brave' who was steadfast..end at end was adorable when he and Dex were on the bed together..Ada though was the 1st to say hello..the hostess with the mostest..And Leonardo did so well for the little guy.. you can see I had a lot of feelings about video, but thank you for sharing..you have a wonderful kitty fam..I was thrilled to see Freya come in

Uncle Dexter won the voting, so I decided to call him that this time. But very soon he will overtake Buster in size and he will look even more majestic than now, so I feel like he needs a very cool and mighty name. Maybe that's when we can call him Mr. D 😄

Dexter was the one who won the day and established his dominance. He should have been removed by the owner. There are more effective ways to allow the cats to become more comfortable with each other.

Dexter is Majestic! A little surly . . . but Majestic.

People seem to thing Dexter is "grumpy" or "mean." Not really. Cats are usually solitary, but when there is lots of food, cats will form colonies. And in colonies there's a very strict pecking order. This is very normal behavior to let the other kitties know that he is alpha. This gets him first eats, etc. At least in the wild. Domestically, it's not really a big deal of course, since everyone gets fed. But that's all that's really going on. As long as kittens do a submissive back-down, he'll be fine.

Upgrade your cat food quality. Purina One canned and dry, is a good brand. Most cat food brands are low quality, thats why you pay less. 🐈 Coyote attacks on Outdoor cats and traffic speeding is on the rise, so keep your cat Indoors. 🐾 If you have a senior cat, bring it in for a full senior blood panel. it’s a quick, easy way to assess its basic all around health, while its still early. Our cats can live healthier & longer. 🐱

You can see that Dexter is cautious, but also curious. All that growling and hissing doesn't come from a place of anger or hatred, but the anxiety of meeting new cats. He's just establishing boundaries. "I'm bigger than you. This is my house and you're living in it. Capiche?"

Freya is done with mothering. She seemed like she didn't want to be bothered.

Dexter doesn’t appear to like the kittens at all. Mama Freya picked up on that!

How adorable!! Dexter seems to be a little intimated by these babies. It just seems like yesterday that you brought Dexter home. And Dexter held his own although much much smaller and younger. Wow, Shere Khan has entered the forest and he commands respect from all who live there. Little Ada was so innocently curious and welcoming in the beginning- kind sir, may I have your name? Oops! Never mind! Galileo was so mellow. Dexter is looking so lush. That move he made when he raised his paw and flexed his claws was very powerful. What a baby lion. Luckily big cat dad soothed him in the moment. What a handsome boy. It was so nice to have closeups of all the kittens. They all seemed a bit stunned at the end but I’m sure after a nice nap and meal they were fine. Thanks for sharing!❤

Ah, cats and their reactions to change. Gotta help Dexter get used to the idea of new babies showing up periodically! Still, very good on him for not lashing out during any of this, and it was wonderful to get that glimpse of you reassuring him with touch. How much of a role model is Buster for him? Do you think seeing Buster’s pretty chill reaction to the babies would help him realize they aren’t a threat to his position in the household?
