Well done Dexter, you coped with a suspicious Orion, a sneaking Sirius (who seemed to disappear into a cupboard), serious inspection from Aurora and one of Mama Luna's hard stares which outdo Paddington's. Lovely to see them altogether, thank you.

Wow these cats are surprisingly so chill while meeting each other for the forst time. No hissing, fighting, chasing etc. 🤔

Luna is such a good and mindful mom, I'm sure they'll all get used to Dexter soon enough! 😸

Seems like the meeting went marvelously well. When i saw Auroa, Sirius, Orion surround Dexter, i thought this is it..'attack time!!', they so calmly stared at Dexter and he back at them..and Luna acted so beautifully knowing that Dexter would not hurt her little ones and didnt go into protective 'mom' mode. I think Dexter will be a great addition to your kitty cat family!! Thank you for sharing..🥰🥰

Just a little bit over 29 years ago that my sister had gotten a cute fur ball red tabby kitten from this one pet store. He did quickly bonded with a cute tuxedo Manx kitten. They both got along so well as cute kittens. They both slept next to each other or on top each other. I fell in loved with the red tabby kitten instantly. Both of them are long gone now these days.

You're lucky. All the cats seem gentle. Gradual introductions are best. * Barrier...but let smell. * Barrier ..but let see. * Removal of barrier after some interaction.... This reduces shock and trauma of sudden introduction where fights and injury may happen.

The mother is like, you look like my kids but why don't you smell like them!

Dexter is Cool!

Poor Dexter. Meets a cute girl, but then has no idea what to say to her. 2:20 Then her two brothers come to confront him, and he's thinking "But I didn't say or do anything." Next, her mother is giving him the side eye. On the plus side, at least she doesn't hate him.

Wish I had one of these guys so bad. Y'know those strappy pouch things some mums have/ use to carry around their newborn babies - I'd get one for these cats & carry them round be it to the supermarket or just a walk round the park they'd come with me!

I also think Aurora is falling for Dexter!

2:24 walks by like it's nothing a minute ago and suddently smells the new Kitten and the back goes instantly up. So cute :D

It's better to keep everyone apart for a while but let them sniff under a door & get used to the scents. Then, see each other through a screen door, mesh etc. Feed everyone within sight of each other, but still apart. Instant introductions are unnecessarily stressful for everyone, although kittens are generally easier to introduce. We tend to forget that animals operate in a different way to 'Hoomans'!

Sorry, my mistake. It was a Northern Forest Cat! Very chill, at least mine was. Came nose to nose with a mouse for a long heartbeat, booped it, and walked away. Probably wasn't his first meeting with it...very chill. I was not!!

I’m curious, did you have Dexter in the room for a day or 2 before they meet? I’m just curious, thank you! They got along so well, wow!!

He got about an hour to explore the apartment for himself. Then he met two of my older cats. It went well so I let him meet the kittens after that 🙂

They are so lovely. How long did it take to get Dexter integrated?

He and the older cats were friends by the next day. It took maybe 2-3 days for Aurora and Sirius to get used to Dexter and Orion was grumpy for a few more days. Dexter was very confident and curious about everything and made himself at home very fast 🙂

The cruelty of forcing one outsider kitten to meet a pack of kittens plus their mother is beyond description. The owner clearly knows nothing of cat likes and dislikes.

Absolutely terrible/wrong way to introduce new cats/kittens to existing cats/kittens in a new home. Suddenly introducing a new cat with foreign smells caused a lot of unnecessary stress on ALL the animals.
