Here is an update on Lakomka, one of the two newborn kittens that we tried to save. Her brother passed the night after we took them but Lakomka is strong kitten with will to survive and she is growing well under our care.

We are Stoyan and Dessy from Bulgaria. We are not organization, neither a shelter, we are just an ordinary couple with a big dream. Everything we provide for the stray animals is coming from our own pockets or with the help of donations from our subscribers. We have 4 cats at home, all rescued from the streets - Sopolcho & Bagheera live with us while Alexa & Rijo live with Dessy's mom, who has been feeding and caring of stray animals for the last 10 years. Bulgaria is a small and poor country with lots of stray cats and not enough kind people to take them in. Our dream is to build a shelter where we could take care of many stray cats with the help of Dessy's mom. Beautiful Lakomka! Her brother stayed with her long enough to know she was in good hands, then went to join their Mama and other siblings across the Rainbow Bridge to let them know what nice people they met and what good life she will have!

We have a little girl cat that was an orphan and bottle fed from infancy. She's very affectionate but doesn't like to be held too much.She'll be OK for a minute or two, but then gets squirmy and wants to get back on the floor, but she doesn't run away. She comes right back for more petting.

Everyone is fine except for Kianu - again he had some problems with stones in the bladder and had to spent a couple of days in vet clinic, but now is better.

She reminds me a lot of my sister's younger cat! That poor little girl was malnourished and had thinning fur when my sister got her from the foster home :( With persistent love and care, she's grown thick fur, has a healthy appetite, and purrs so loudly, it's like a motor running :) So happy that Lakomka is thriving!

Calicos have a spirit in them like no other. I miss my Kalley Kat, she was a tortishell. She used to sleep at the end of my bed and keep me comfortable! I got a muted calico now and she follows me everywhere!
At least you did the best. Sometimes we lose, sometimes we win. It's sad to lose a kitten, if I were you, I would cry a have cried a lot.
