Man that was hard work, looks like you were at the beginners stage at that time, giving the conditions and how horrible that kite was flying due to line stretching you did and admirably good job, 👍🏼👍🏼

I wish all my sessions looked that good. If you're ever in Eastern NC, come out to kite with us. Teach's Kiteboarding. They ride us out to some world class Kiteboarding spots.

gusty is better than no wind.

When you start in the water, you have to point your board in the direction of the pull of the kite. You keep it perpendicular. It's like try to start riding a car with full pressure on the brake. Build up your speed, then start carving. It will make your water starts so much easier.

Thank you Jakke. Yes I was quite inexperienced then and I was not pointing the board down the wind at lunch sufficently. Maybe it was bit out of fear as it was very gusty with wind on and off.

That kite doesn't seem to fly too well with that bar...seems like like flying hard left or mostly hard right with no inbetween, no? Admire your persistence

yes I realised later one of lines was more stretched than the other. Thanks for comment!

holy shit I can tell how gusty it is just based on your power dives. The kite overflys because of the gust, your lines become loose, you try to drive it only for the kite to fly entirely in the low power zone and you get absolutely no power haha. I'm sure your a pro by now, clearly you had guts given the craszy wind, lack of any other kiters AND the near-offshore winds.
