Lemon model! I have made 4 warranty claims so after starting after 13 months of owning it. Thank goodness I purchased extra warranty. But I would much rather have a fridge that works. The fridge repair guy says he has been fixing this model all over the city. Beware.

The ice dispenser baffles me. It's a long oval opening. Even when putting a glass right up to it, there are still openings for ice to fly everywhere.

Love the look and led lights, have had for 3 years. Well, like everyone else, problems started about 2 years in. Led lights, marketed as lasting for years, went out. One freezer drawer door does not work properly. The ice maker stopped working. Needs a new harness for freezer defroster. Freezes up. It’s an expensive mess. Did not get warranty, huge regret. Love the looks, gray interior, led lighting, drawers and space. Hate that it’s all worthless! Repairman said it’s a horrible model. Over 1k a year for a fridge? Unacceptable. In addition, all of my appliances are kitchenaid, main reason I purchased was because I loved the 36 inch stove. AND the microwave is also giving me problems. Led display does not work and several features do not work. Over 1k for that! So do NOT PURCHASE this brand. Rant over.

What is it with these drawers? Our Samsung that we just got rid of placed the wiring harness in the same track as the door roller and it eventually cut the wiring harness in half! NOt sure who has solved this problem but hopefully with all these comments Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) has trouble shot!

Just got off the phone with the warranty folks. Some of the lights went out a few months ago. A module needed replacing. Well, the internal wiring was such that the replacement module can't connect so the model needs replacing. Probably an engineering oversight. This happened at just under 3 years of ownership and we bought all available extra warranties. They will replace it and will take about a month to do so. It will cost us over a thousand dollars. I love this fridge and am still deciding what to do. What I love about this fridge: I took my old side by side (same cf), put the contents into this fridge and had lots of room left over. Amazing! I use the herb/sliding panel for eggs. The drawers are set for "herbs/greens" and I use the right side drawer for my home made bread. It keeps for a really long time. No other fridge did that without it drying out or molding. But the lights (many of them) are out. The lighting is what attracted me to this fridge. The lights show off the food and don't glare back in your face. I may try sticking on some motion detector lights in the freezer as that is the darkest place. Is there another that compares? When it works, it is simply the best.

@@funplaymix7710 exactly. And from my research... the last 10 years have seen all refrigerators from all manufacturers take a nose dive in reliability.

We have this refrigerator. The first year we had it, the seals needed to be replaced. The second year many issues started occurring. The defrost mechanism has failed on numerous occasions requiring repair. The computer panel has failed and that panel has now been replaced two times. Issues with the Ice maker not making Ice necessitating more service calls. Most recently the Ice dispenser has failed. Extremely dissatisfied with the reliability of this refrigerator. We are now looking for a replacement refrigerator. Manufacturers are selling extremely poorly made products.

@@artiatul1 We had to get rid of this refrigerator. It totally failed. Very sad considering the cost.

The ice dispenser is very small it can not keep up with our demand, also we haven't had the refrigerator for two years and all the lights on the top went out other than that I love it.

I have this same Kitchenaid that sells for around 4K,. Gorgeous but it was 4.5 years old and the control board just went bad. $550 repair. first the lights went out, then the screen didn't work and then the cooling was working intermittently The tech that diagnosed it said this is a very common problem for Kitchenaid. His advice was less features less things to go wrong. He also mentioned that Kitchenaid is also starting to stop making replacement parts

This is what happened to mine! I have a repair guy coming tomorrow.

Fast-forward a few more months... Any issues? Also do you notice the fridge being loud? We are replacing a fridge that is loud and we want something quieter.

Owned the KRMF706ESS01 for 6 years. We have enjoyed it, but now the wire harness for the pantry drawer has failed - 4 of the wires have snapped at the flexing point. Symptoms are "door open" icon flashes even with all doors shut. LED lights inside fridge are all off with door open. Many people on fridge repair sites have had this problem, with differing symptoms. The broken wires just pull out of the wire protector if you are looking for the problem. The replacement wire harness costs ~$100, but should be free from the manufacturer considering the number of failures. The problem is caused by poor engineering of the wires and harness.

$4000.00 Boat Anchor. Whirlpool / Kitchenaid should give me a new one that works along with an apology letter and financial compensation for my suffering. All this thing is capable of being is an expensive and nice looking box of junk. If I didn't have all matching Kitchenaid appliances, it would be on the side of the road with a "FREE" sign on it instead of me fixing it.

It's almost been 9 months, any updates?

5:55 the top door of the refrigerator is crooked? The gap between the upper door and lower door narrows to the right.

LOL. The only difference is that I do not think this refrigerator has killed the same number of people.

This refrigerator only lasted 4 years and I started having ice maker problems, they replaced some parts and 9mos. Later ice maker stopped working they replaced the ice maker and the lights went out on the in side. They replaced lights. Now the refrigerator started making a noise that sounded like it was going to explode, yes the refrigerator died. 6 years old and paid over 3000.00 for it😢

KitchenAid refrigerators are the worst! We’ve had to have ice maker replaced and compressor replaced twice! Left door was replaced too. Got it in 2017. Ice maker still won’t make ice June- August. So frustrating!

I am on my 6th refrigerator. The finish of the stainless steel looks like it’s been hit with tennis balls. They are not actual dents but the finish. Not happy at all..

@@beauchristopher2033 I have this refrigerator. After 2 1/2 years we have had numerous problems. The computer panel has been replaced twice. The defrost mechanism continues to fail. Ice maker has failed numerous times and today the Ice dispenser has stopped working. I am so disgusted. I love the layout of this refrigerator but now after so many service calls we are looking for a new refrigerator. So very disappointed with this refrigerator.

I’ve had this fridge and numerous times frost has kept building up in the back making loud motor noise. I’ve had to change the defrost timer already. Poor quality considering the price paying for this.

This refrigerator sucks. For 4 months it's beautiful. Not even 4 years later, multiple problems. Not to mention that black stainless is nothing but a coating on top of regular stainless, scratches easily, and CANNOT be repaired. For $4000 I expected something a bit better.

sajida ji, price is 4500 plus hst. but mine has broken down twice so far and every time the part took more than 3 weeks to come from USA. Imagine living without Roti and Salan for that many days.

I love this refrigerator. I have it. I wouldn’t buy another one. This is the greatest one!

This refrigerator is trash!! Water from the ice machine leaks inside the fridge. Doings so can cause the water to leak on the panel connected to the storage drawer which can short it out causing major problems. Had mine for 4 years and nothing but problems. Good luck if you decide to purchase

Exact same problems I had I stop working cheap plastic drawers in the freezer break now I think the motherboard went out because nothing on display panel

These refrigerators are so over-complicated it's ridiculous. You don't need internet, computers or any other crap on your refrigerator. The refrigerators with the freezer in a drawer opn the bottom are terrible. It's literally the 1970s refrigerator but upside down and with a double door instead of a single door and fancy lights. The old side by sides with were the best. All the stuff in the freezer was easy to get to and they are easy and relatively cheap to fix.

There needs to be a class action lawsuit over this piece of junk.
