Just fixed a mess just like this today for a 90 year old Neighbor. Took me most of the day and it was dumping into the dishwasher while it was clogged. I ran the snake many times and then had to make a straight pipe connection and by-pass the garbage disposal and dishwasher put it together and plunge the living daylights out of it before the clog broke lose. I might go back and adjust their dishwasher drain as I know it was not all the way up to the top of the sink for sure. I am happy I just came home and saw this Video. Great job and you made it fun. Thanks

Brings back bad memories for sure....Was trying to help out my neice, "....can you just replace a leaky water valve for me under the bathroom sink?....." Went downhill from there....The pipe broke off inside the bathroom wall when I removed the leaky valve....Needless to say, the bathroom was tiled and the supply pipe was cemented to the sub floor! And now I know what happens when you mess with brass supply lines....Did not want to solder inside the wall so used one of those oring elbows...Finally, after a few days of work, valve was fixed but sink backed up due to all the banging/chiseling to bust out the tile! I must have snaked 20 feet with no luck, finally figured out I had snaked out the vent line! Sure learned a lot the hard way.....Now, after watching your videos, I see the is a tool that may have extracted that broken supply pipe threads....

You deserve every dollar you make. I’ve cleaned my share of clogged drains and always hated it. Working in a confined space with filthy pipes is not as easy as you make it look. Good job.

Great job Steve. Lots of muck and rust in those old pipes. My grandmother lived in a house that was built in '55. When she was alive I was going over there every few months to snake rust and muck from the upstairs bathroom and kitchen sinks to get them to flow. Finally when I had time off I hacked both pipes off in the basement and ran PVC up and to both drains. Those old pipes were 75% clogged with crap! No more issues after that!

That was wonderful to watch. Thank you so much! I learned so much! Thanks again and again! I think I love you! and your doggie! Wish you were the one doing my under the sink right now, instead of me. I'm just a girl , but I have a couple of drain snakes, thankfully, that I've never ever used before... I bought a kit for replacing the plumbing under the sink. It looked so good! But it wouldn't drain! Re did it 3 times. Then went back to the set up that someone else put in before we bought this house. It didn't drain either.... So now I Guess I'll have to figure out how to use my snakes to clean the drain? It's a crazy life ,learning to be a plumber. But I'm a girl that loves puzzles, and solving problems, so I know I'll figure it out eventually, thanks to YOU!. sigh... here I go again.... Haven't been able to use my sink for a WEEK! Yikes! I'm going in! one more times! Please come to my house in Atlanta and help me, if I can't fix it myself?!

Nice job! Only thing that I cringed at was when you used a hose off the stop valve to verify. I used to do the same thing until I had a stop valve that for some reason wouldn't shut back off and the drain was still stopped up. Luckily I had a bucket and knew where the shut off was for the house

The argument for creating a high loop (or air gap) in the dishwasher drain line is to keep the dirty sink water out of the dishwasher altogether.

My 2 inch pvc drain pipe from the kitchen sink became totally clogged with sludge. Would not clear with a snake. Fortunately the entire pipe between my floor joists is easily accessible. So I just cut it out and glued another one in it's place. Cost me $20 rather than $400 that was quoted. It actually had a 45 attached to it's own cleanout which caused the restriction blockage

This one took a lot of work with the snake to get er finally cleared out. I wonder if it has something to do with the dishwasher and undissolved soap. Maybe the water temp in the dishwasher has been too low. Do you think all that muck might have been soap? As always, thanks for the video -- great camera positioning. Enjoyed it a lot.

So Steve did you ever have to change the cable in the Power Vee to a larger cable to clear out a drain? I have had a kitchen drain that took three passes to get it running and was wondering if I had changed cables and used an arrow head cleaner and a larger cable if that would have done the job faster and get it cleaner. Did you ever try and get some adaptors to screw in place of the aerator and then screw on your hose? I have one that fits most sinks and Oh Mama next level how easy it was...…….

Your secondary condensate pan is most likely full of water and that is why it's draining out where it is. You more than likely have a blockage in your primary drain and need to get that cleared so it quits draining into your secondary pan. If something happens to that secondary drain pan you will have water leaking into your house pending on where your air handler is.
