I was introduced to Kitaro by a crewman I sailed with on container ships - 1987-1989...I cant remember his name , but I'm eternally grateful...this tune brought me down on an airplane in a storm some years ago , maybe 2014, after 3 tries at landing at Glasgow airport. With this loud in my earphones, I wasn't afraid of dying....so peaceful...graceful, and the way to go.

Much of the Silk Road series illustrate cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world. Japan was indirectly influenced through China. It’s also a joint program with the Chinese CCTV and the first time a foreign television crew was granted entry into the Silk Road region within Chinese territory. Your info is good but left out China.

I remember, when I first discovered Kitaro in the late 80s, I listened to this (on vinyl) for 3 weeks straight, looping the hell out of it.

It was touching to see the starry sky again. And only flute kind instruments create the spacious feeling like sky.
