I will NEVER forget this album or the movie Heaven and Earth. I was deting my husband and earth, and we were watching this moving together. We were really lost souls and this movie was our first date. It was soooo impactful. He was an immigrant and alone with no family. I was divorced and very alone. He asked me to marry him that week. We NEVER lookd back or at anyone else. We have solidly bonded for 24 years. He was on UTube and he called me from our room and said, "honey, listen, do you remember this?" The first note brought me a flood of tears and his eyes glistened. Love and music is so moving. This will be our song and album till we die. We both have survived great tragedy and loss and we cling together with God's help. I have absolutely no regrets, is my soul mate in life's storms and I am wife. Thank you for sharing this.

Yes- you have to see the movie to appreciate how this great music fits in with telling of the story. I am an Aussie Vietnam Veteran and can close my eyes, listen to the music and can indeed be between "Heaven and Earth"!

I cried out loud while listening to this album until the morning this evening, how helpless we are and need the Almighty Creator with every breath... Dear Mr. Kitaro, neither my financial means nor my health will allow me to see you. I can't see you but you always have a place in my heart. Even though I think of you as the greatest musician in history, I know you are too humble a person to admit that. But my feelings say nothing else. May GOD lead you to Him according to His will forever. A helpless servant of Allah who always loves you...

The sublime introduction of this musical piece, before the orchestra starts to play, is so beautifully heartbreaking. It perfectly reflects all of the great suffering and pain people went through in countries of South East Asia like Vietnam and Cambodia in the 60's and 70's. It always brings tears to my eyes.

I used to feel a very intense sadness when I heard this song as a young boy, and I never understood what it was, but it was just overwhelming. I've listened to this song today, for the first time in decades, and it touched me in a different way. I can still feel the sadness, but it feels like "I'm ready now".

Я заслушала «до дыр» эту невероятную Историю неизвестной мне жизни. Я понимала всей своей кожи, что у этой музыки есть своя история, но тогда я не знала, что это история о войне. 8-ми летней девочкой я была с родителями на море и познакомилась с двумя вьетнамскими студентами. Уже шла война не один год. Студенты писали потом нам с фронта и дома у меня хранятся эти письма. Потом была Чехословакия. И это было пугающе страшно для моих сверстников. Но музыка вернулась ко мне из лампового телевизора и я шла к ней через все пространство своего дома - то была увертюра всего потрясающего фильма. Когда на сильных долях музыки колосились под потоками воздуха приближающихся вертолетов, разрывающих мирную жизнь маленьких трудолюбивых людей, я осознала историю, рассказанную великим композитором. Страшнее фильма о войне я не знаю. А теперь в моей стране война, потому что «добрый сосед» решил нас освободить сотнями бомб, ракет и смертей. Я пишу на его языке, чтобы до тех кто на нем говорит, хоть на минуту достучаться до мозга. В моей душе нет ненависти, есть лишь презрение к несовершенству души, которую, я очень надеюсь, сможет победить эта музыка. Я верю в свой народ. Слава Украине!💙💛
