Haneul as the only full Korean member is the less fluent, she mix korean and english (but she also speaks japanese, even have a great cover named "pretender" in japanese), but give her time, her english in Midas Touch/Nothing was on point.

Haneul really surprised me with her vocals this comeback. With past songs I kinda felt like she didn't stand out too much and was just a maknae and lead vocal, but now I'm fully convinced she is Belle Jr.

Haneul has so much growth and potential in her. When they first debuted I was like "Ok I like it". With the recent comeback and their dance video releases I'm floored by the talent

Haneul sings very well, plays instruments very well, and dances. I love other maknaes but lowkey Haneul is the most talented maknae musically if we look at it objectively.

"Nothing" is a song where I genuinely have to ask, "who hurt you?" LOL. I don't get the same feeling when I hear other groups cry about love, but Kiss of Life made me believe the words they were singing. I'd hate to be the guy who pissed them off. Great songs, great reaction. Thanks!

I wish they had extended the entirety of the last chorus, or do that thing some songs do where they extend the second chorus, then have it the same in the last chorus but BIGGER and more dramatic especially since the concept was very much mythology themed, and the chords were SEXY AND DRAMATIC - a last epic chorus couldve ended it so nicely ANNNDD bc its so short??? WTF IS UP w these 5th gen groups and 2 minute songs

That is the word EFFORT. They really seem to care about the artistry here and bringing something different when compared to others in their generation

Loving the direction their team is taking with them. They feel fresh compared to our current acts in kpop. Also, I believe the fact they’re seasoned in this industry due to previous experiences, and pretty much aware and on touch with their brand and art, makes them more believable.

Don't forget Julie is also American-Korean along with Belle. Julie grew up in Hawaii and Belle grew up in Washington! All of the members are fluent enough in English that they can all keep a conversation going in English, so I don't think it's such a bad thing for this group specifically to release songs in English! Came here to say-half of the members are American, so the all English makes more sense for them, IMO.

The teaser didn’t disappoint for the final product. Choreo and charisma is super strong, the chorus needed a bigger sound at the end at least, but the whole package is well worth it and I think they help to set another standard for the smaller companies!

U have some of the most in depth analysis and it always articulates how i feel so well. Kudos.

Nothing is my personal favorite of theirs, and might even be my favorite song of 2024 so far. It’s been on REPEAT, can’t wait to see what else they have to offer but honestly their future looks so bright.

i love kiss of life's new album !! esp nothing. nothing is just giving like a sad love , soul type vibe with a heavenly honey kinda melody & im here for it. it's just , the rap im not really a fan of. like im vibing to the song (knowing damn well i have a boyfriend lmao) & then all of a sudden get hit w rap. it feels kinda random for the song lol , itll be good with just singing & julie has a nice soft husky voice that i love. but other then that , i love kiss of life & their new album

I love several girl groups and pop music in general, but sometimes it feels like the industry forces the audience to listen certain types of songs with a certain structure, and it can get tiring at times. That's why KIOF feels so refreshing, honoring their concept of giving a new lease of life to music. It's not necessary to have 10 producers and 20 lyricists to make a good song; all you need is talent, passion, and a team who really cares about making MUSIC and not just A PRODUCT and this is proof of that

0:53 This shot is very Britney Spears - Oops I Did It Again coded, love that. It fits w the 00s vibe of the song, I'm sure its no coincidence. Also 2:22 her singing "Baby, I'm so toxic" while riding the motorcycle is kind of a callback to Britney's Toxic mv. I see the inspo here, I see the vision. 🤌🏿 This is where the pop historian in me gets my kicks lol. Even the font here @ 2:47 is from Britney's Circus era/mv. W the english songs, sometimes it highlights the weaker points in a song. Hearing it in korean and w the delivery it changes the amount of sauce a song has sometimes. I would be *very* careful choosing which songs to do in English.

Midas Touch is so 2000s Britney, and I love them for that. It's different than what's trending in kpop right now too which is refreshing. ❤ and then Nothing. The lyrics? The production? The chill vibe? It's a great spring bside.

this was such a good comeback. i think why "nothing" was in english is as you say, because three of them are fluent in english. the only one that has a little trouble with the language is haneul. But the songs ate for sureeee

i love KIOF! i think they bring a really y2k american sound? and it fits the members well! they don't even seem nugu lol. i also think the chorus could have done a bit more but it was a good song regardless!

Im trying so hard to think of all the refrences... The Scene where they dance infront of the Midas Touch stage is def a refrence to Xtina's Moulin Rouge / Marmalade song... Julie's bed scene and the camera angle SCREAMS Katy Perry's 'I kissed a girl' mv... Natty's spider scene does vaguely remind me of Britney's Blackout album.. UGHHH i fucking love these girls

When I heard Midas Touch, it reminded me Britney Spears in the best way possible. Kiss of Life defo feels like fresh air in the current kpop trend among 5th gen groups, and because they feel different trying to do their own thing, I am hooked to them more. I appreciate your reaction, I agree with you that in the chorus part they could defo give us more, but I still liked the song a lot! And yes, I most of the new groups do release all-english songs in their b-sides, like at least 1 or 2 songs defo will be full-english, and sometimes it's okay but I also would like to see more full-korean b-sides. But, since we don't get this much from 4th-5th gen groups, I just listen to Red Velvet b-sides ahaha and hope you'll do more reactions to RV and KIOF in the future!

I love all of it. I'm happy to see a group of talanted young women. To many "baby"groups nowadays for my taste.
