Lalah Hathaway; what can one say about a musician that clenches the aural dynasty of class, elegance and pure musical wonder. This sister just has her act 'together'. When I come home after a day out; I have to turn on Lady Lalah Hathaway to digest a symphony of musical genius. A smorgasbord of delectable melodic and harmonic pastries melded together to enable an aural epitome of delectable treats. This is a recorded work that 'must' be an integral part of everyone's musical collection! An angelic symphony prepared an structured for those of us that enjoy supreme musical excellence.

Jazz frees your soul by connecting with you on a deeper level. The expressions of the musician can be interpreted in so many different ways by each listener. There is no one same meaning. It is like a blank cheque to soothe your emotions. That's what Jazz does and nobody does it better than Kirk Whalum. Lalah Hathaway's voice and technique just perfect for this. I listened to this so many times I lost count.

Lala, Kirk, George and the rest of the Band WOW WOW WOW. We do not see this much anymore. Real musicians, real music. Not sample. not copied. Go to 5:00, that brother is not sleeping. Kurt and Lalah have never won a Grammy. In 2010, Kurt did a jazz CD to pay homage to his musical hero, Donny Hathaway. This CD didn’t get nominated for a Grammy. Then Kurt released a gospel CD with Lalah in 2010, and a song on the project ended up winning a Grammy. In the end, Kurt paid the ultimate tribute to Donny Hathaway by featuring his daughter this gospel CD. Kurt’s desire to honor someone other than himself, though God’s music, finally earned him and Lalah music industry’s top prize.
