For fancy goldfish, the general rule of thumb is 20 gallons for the first one and 10 for every one after that- filtration is essential too. For non-fancy goldfish, due to higher activity levels and larger growing size, 75 gallons minimum is recommended for the first goldfish.

Why? So you can take it back home, put in in an unsuitable tank, get bored of it and then neglect it for a long time, and if it survives maybe eventually find someone better to rehome it to? Because this is the fate the overwhelming majority of these fish & turtles face here.

It was temporary. They raise the fry up in their ponds and take them to market for selling. I expect when they're bought they will go back to another pond. ✌😄

Poor baby goldfish & turtles :/ . The overwhelming majority of these fish & turtles will not find suitable owners- most will die before they've even reached maturity.

Personally i think its better to boycott these things altogether. Paying to play and win a few goldfish might "save" those goldfish, but these games have massive profit margins (the fish are don't even cost a penny) and by paying to play you are only encouraging the person to buy more fish and put them in the same predicament.
