Lucky it worked. Learnt don't put the control in the back where you have to open the back doors to get it, too

@anothergoldprospector It is now. Plus, have the end of the winch at the top of the bullbar. Instead of reaching under water. At one stage, I was going to pump it dry with the bigle pump

just remember, loop back on itself weakens the rope and is on;y 80% of total potentian of the rope. so in several factors, a big no no for winching, it also damages trees.

@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures rethink your recovery gear starage then. it's one of the poorest excuses for not doing things properly I've heard in a while.

@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures Well, that just proves you're unwilling to learn, so hang up your 4x4 keys and go get a Prius. What I have jsut told you is actually basic recovery knowledge, if you can#t be bothered to improve, then don't do the thing in the first place. Simple facts here, you may have got out, but there are much better ways of doing it, one day, that shortcut might be the rope through your screen or someone's arm, the plan is educaton, do better and show you are actually learning. Putting a tree strop somewhere accessible inn the vehicle is not difficult, it can also be a life saver. Go talk to anyone in the 4x4 recovery world and they will mirror what I've told you. Obviously, if you don't take the advice, then you are proving you are a bit of an idiot and don't care about yourself or the environment you are using. Go discuss it with the pro's and then tell me I'm wrong and a perfectionist, I'm not, I'm just giving you free advice.

Never, ever hook the winch back onto itself. Very very bad for the winch rope. Get yourself a tree trunk protector and use it!

@grunkalunka3449 I know I messed up with the recovery setup. After opening the back barn doors to get controler out. Filling with water. I couldn't get to the gear I needed. Have learnt & relocated the recovery gear to a more appropriate place. I do have the tree trunk protector. More just panic & not thinking on my part.

@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures We all make mistakes bud. I always remember what i was told years ago about 4wd recoveries. Unless the tide is racing in, or you are about to fall off a cliff. Theres no need to panic, or rush.

@grunkalunka3449 I didn't film until I got out of the hole. The wheels were under water on the passenger side.
