@@atticstattic they are trying to get those eggs not for consumption. They were meant to be incubated where the hatchlings will be trained and used for falconry in the future. Birds of prey usually build their nests high up; thus to acquire those eggs for the said purpose they, of course, will have to brave higher altitude than usual. If they were gathering eggs simply for food - they'll not need to be selective; there would be other nests to raid at lower elevations. Actually, they would be able to get them from the very ground as they walk where some birds prefer to build their nests. In fact, there are some species of birds who even build their nests underground! Sorry for not getting what you were trying to say. English isn't my first language either. Seeing how the chimps domesticate the raptors (eagles, hawks, falcons) by taking their eggs to raise the chicks makes me wish for a sequel they do the same for Wolves in which the Apes take the pups and raise them as their own. this reminds me of an African tribe/group that collected ostriches' eggs and that they always leave at least 1 egg in a nest and there was an episode of life after people that had a section on Miami were there chimps that escape from a nearby zoo and they eat bird eggs and a chimp is like '' leave at least one egg there'' and over time they have a symbiosis relationship between the chimps and these birds the chimps have a source of food and in return they protect the birds from house cats by scaring/chasseing them away and I see that here
One interesting little detail here is how the girl chimp (Soona?) scowls at the other guy chimp (Anaya?) after he excitedly snags an egg out of the nest, like she hoped he would’ve waited for the egg to _sing_ to him.
Gosh I really loved this trio of friends. Noa is a really likeable protagonist ❤
