Tara is such an inspiring woman...and she has a presence... very admirable. First time i heard about her was through my younger sister. Her marriage is exemplary. King Woman!

Tara's composure is golden. She seemed to have mastered the art of facial gesticulation. Her smile. Her calm. She seemed in control of her emotions. I'm taking that with me.

I can relate to Aunty Tara's experience. My mum left myBrothers and I when I was four years old and in the process I lost one of my brothers. Till date having a mother daughter relationship is hard but I know healing takes time and that in the end I will be whole again.

This sounds so much like my mom's story.... the childhood part. Her mom was never there, mom grew up with two stepmoms and was treated like the maid...helping the other women's kids with everything. It sort of affected the way she raised me though... It was tough love all the way, and she also wasn't there for my own 'milestones'. You can still feel the bitterness whenever she talks about her experiences growing up. Sadly, the damage runs so deep, even now I feel very detached from my own mom because I never understood why she also was never there, even when we lived in the same house. People really go through a lot.

Sometimes people don't understand the pain others go through and judge them. However, if you walked a day in their shoes and ask for your heart to be opened to understand their situation then you will understand their pain and the reason they act the way they do. Thank you for sharing Tara.
