I have the S19 (one of 5 EUCs I own) and it’s a great wheel for the price. I’ve had no (zero) problems. I ride occasionally for fun. I have a car and a motorcycle also. I’ve never taken any of them apart, except for repairs, and only judge by riding joy and reliability. I have the street tire so this wheel is not for off roading but have taken it out a time or two when there’s a side trail. Can’t resist. Great wheel!

I mean even with the S16 being more powerful than the S18, it weighs nearly 15 pounds more. That's a lot. Hell the S18 is already over OSHA's limit for lifting for one person at work places. OSHA's limit is only 50 pounds. Really wish there were some good options for suspension but lighter. Even the Begode Falcon is going to be 55 pounds.

Finally, the review of the S19 that I've been waiting for so long! I ended up buying the latest version with Samsung 50S batteries. Do I regret not getting the Extreme, which I was also considering? I don't know because I haven't ridden the Extreme. So far, I've covered 600 km, with some off-roading but mainly commuting to and from work. The rather negative reviews about the water resistance of this wheel contradict the experiences of users of this unicycle. Russians (where this wheel is popular due to regulations) use it in really harsh conditions, and there have been no cases of water-related failures. That's why I decided on this wheel; however, after watching this review, I took the small effort of sealing the top part of the housing under the controller and the motor edge. I've lowered the suspension to the maximum, which gives me even better control. The pads are indeed a bit tight when I wear full Leatt protectors, so I'm seriously considering cutting off their front part. What I like most about the S19 is the handle and weight, which allow me to carry it with one hand.

Thanks for the very extensive technical view 'behind the sales-stage', as there are not many EUC producers able to reach the (western) modern construction level, so it seems? Spending 3 to 4 thousand eurees for this kind of quality can only be done when one is crazy about riding EUC's in the first place, but it will hit back on the long run, thats for shure. Compared with you're checklist in mind, there is only Leaperkim standing firm. As a starter, it means I have to get used having my feed high above the ground, while learning the famous 'brain-switch' for balancing the wheel and myself. You've mentioned it before, suspension and the taller build quality will need a bigger determination in learning the EUC-ride for the very first time. You are right..Lets do it!! :-) The lowering pedals for the Lynx ( just 30 mm) might help me somewhat. Afterall, I have to go the 'wrong way' to make it right...:-) Cheers!

Thanks for this detailed survey of the S16. I have the pro version with 750k so far, about 25% of that on dirt and I am more or less happy with it. It is light and nimble and has been trouble free so far. The QC on mine seems to have been better; silicone in all the right places, however I have had to make some mods. First I removed the speakers and added larger side plates and V14 pads for better control. I also adapted pedals from the S22 because there are no aftermarket pedals that I could find. The slid rollers do collect dirt and I think that dropping the motor and cleaning the slider system with WD40 and compressed air should be done at least every 1000k, sooner when exposed to dirt and sand. A full set of rollers only costs $80 and I don’t mind working on the wheel, but, If I had it to do it over, I think I would have just gone for the V14 in spite of the extra weight.

As a lower range/speed rider, (all but once under the 60km max and under 42kph) I am still good with my Kingsong s18, the wheel still preforms great although not super performance, runs really cool, great suspension, not ridiculous weight, decent trolley handle. Sure I miss out on modern torque, but my wheel has climbed any real city hill in my town with ease. I just don't need more really although a bigger battery would be the most nice upgrade. I am mostly looking for a used small wheel next mcm5 or mten3-4 for learning backwards/idling and have a better wheel to teach friends with.

It seems like all the reviews of all the EUC types have long lists of cons. I want to start with EUC’s and am orienting myself with which brand and type to use. The Inmotion Challenger or others of 4000 euros are way over the top for me. After your initial KS16 review I figured it was that that I wanted, but now you show a different side of the machine. I like a wider wheel than that of a V10F. So is there any EUC that has a good price and good quality? Im prepared to spend around 2000 eur and dont care about speed higher than 20kph or doing jumps, though riding offroad I expect to be doing.

Good breakdown of issues, no obvious bias and though I have no interest in either wheel the video was still good to watch as when you talk about design issues and the disappointment it is not about performance just about poor design choices. Clearly, at some point, design choices and part integrity issues will either be improved or we will lose a manufacturer because they can’t compete.

If the wheel don't charge fully, I can measure each pack to see if one of them have a problem, I don't need to know which cell is faulty since I would have to replace the whole pack anyway. And smart bms will just add more cost to the wheel. T4 is amazing value right now! Kingsong is just trying to commit suicide it seems.

I've managed (and highly recomend) to cut out the front parts of the side panels, sooooo much better now; speakers were easy to unmount too And now the tire change is easier too - did You know that You can release the wheel from the chassis simply by unscrewing (1) bottom links and (2) straightforwardly unscrew phase-wire cap with the short screwdriver from below (in a maximum pre-extracted position). This leaves to unmount just the stand with a fender to actually start the tire change. Thanks for detailed review

I can tell you right now my S19 was the worst wheel I have ever owned... Less power than the S18 (we compared them side by side with 2 different riders), it could never reach above 30mph without having audio warnings, we over heated it twice, the slider rollers started getting chunky and bad at 150 miles, if you blipped the throttle the pedals would dip before the wheel gave you any warnings....it has slow acceleration specially for it being 100v and its cost. other than being pretty with okay loud speakers its trash and I have owned A LOT of unicycles....

Man, i just wish there was a -cheap- wheel that was as waterproof as my veteran sherman. I am not very handy, but i'd like to have a wheel with street tire, but decided that i wouldn't want to do that kind of tire swap 2 times a year on the sherman.. Swedish weather and winters are not kind to the wheels

Seems to me that dependent on your riding style, the S16 would be okay. Fine for commuting... keep away from jumps and minimal stairs. And keep out of the rain!!

@@misubisu I don't really do jumps and stuff like that so I don't think the screws or axel will be a problem, I mostly just cruise around with friends the only problem is the rain, as it can go from clear sunny skies to a thunderstorm in a matter of minutes here, so unfortunately I am going to need something a bit more sealed, my friend is currently on a Inmotion V12 and I have been using his KS 16x, I am ready to get my own wheel, but there is a limit to what's available here

I can attest S16Pro was a nightmare for me. Gave it away after 6 weeks. constant BMS issues, mudguard and suspension rubbing, and tire valve hitting the battery boxes. I don't recommend it at all, I'm back on my 18XL. no "smart" BMS but literally rock solid, zero issues. Kingsong's last great wheel..

Bummer to hear. I also have the S16Pro and it has largely been great for me after 500 miles. The trolley handle stuck for me too, and ultimately the bottom part of one side of the trolley broke off. Works ok while waiting for a replacement part. Otherwise, it’s been smooth sailing and tons of fun.

Loks like S22Pro is much better created . Rollers aren worst thing . Rows where tey are rolling after 15-20 tousands of km will be worn . So battery cases will be neded to replace .

It seems to me like King Song is content in making affordable commuter wheels. I really don't think they care about reaching the high-performance extreme riding/ racing market.

Alors quoi ? On retourne chez begode ? . 😂

I was planning on buying KS-S16 pro as my beginner wheel, but after I watching this, I just lost any hope for any Kingsong brands. I just wish Leaperkim releases a beginner wheel where any beginner rider wouldn't have to worry if the wheel they just purchased would be safe/not overall to ride. Leaperkims 20 point inspection (correct me if I'm wrong there), assures me that that wheel I would buy from them is fully inspected from top to bottom and its ready to ride by a beginner.

You're right, don't be fooled by Inmotion or Kingsong marketing. Focus on Begode and Leaperkim, the problem with Leaperkim is that it's way too expensive for what it is, quality shouldn't cost that much, especially for a beginner. I advise you to turn to Begode, with a Begode Falcon or a T4 you will get value for your money and it will always be more reliable and repairable than KS and Inmotion.
