King Salmon Fishing Downtown Chicago 2022
Спорт
This was an active day for kings. On this day the fish were hitting on crank baits. The green Thunderstick and chartreuse Rapala DT10 were my hot lures on this day. There is no need to go to Wisconsin for Kings when you can catch them in your own back yard. Every harbor in Chicago has king salmon. Just need to get out and spend time learning with the local fisherman. Thanks for the support and stay tuned for another King Salmon video.

Love your videos man! Quick question: how do you choose what harbor to visit on a given day? Do you check out multiple before you decide where to stay and fish that day?
@Jesus312Fishing
Жыл бұрын
Yes I do! Sometimes I'll go to multiple harbors until I find where they are. Last year I focused more on a different harbor and did pretty good. You can also talk to the local fisherman and ask.

@@Jesus312Fishing Thanks, man. Are there any signs you look for to see if a harbor looks promising on a given day? Or do you try some casts then move on?
@Jesus312Fishing
Жыл бұрын
@@aadityamanirajan8171you will see them jumping. I'll cast for a while and if I don't see any jumpers I'll move on. I also study charts to determine water depts in harbors.

I'm planning to go this weekend, do you have a recommended harbor by name? Could you also recommend a good lure? Is now a good time? Thanks!

The king salmon run is good toward the end of September. You might get some at Burnham Harbor. People are catching them on spawn and cranks. Best thing to do and go and see what other are doing. You might want to harbor hop and look for people fishing. I also recommend going to Park Bait Shop at Montrose harbor. They have all the hot lures available. Good Luck
Can you catch king salmon in the summer time months like June july and August lake fishing? Or just only in the fall?
@Jesus312Fishing
Жыл бұрын
Salmon come close to shore when the water temps reach closer to 50 degrees. The earliest you can try is August.
Awesome! What's your rod and reel set up?

Where do you usually park and how much is the fee any suggestions so I don't have to pay like $20 plus/hr. so I can fish more instead of looking at my watch it's time to go T_T

Where exactly is this place. I want to come fish there. Can you share the location please?

Next to grant park
When does it end?
@Jesus312Fishing
Жыл бұрын
It's hard to tell. Most of the fish are already in the harbor and you'll see them swimming around. They will eventually turn into "zombies" and die. For me this will be my last week trying for kings.
Can I come fishing with you?

I usually go last minute and only fish 2 hours at the most. Are you really close to the city?

Same haha, I live like 10mins from Montrose Harbor
When you keep them do you put them in a cooler? Or do you bleed and gut them right there?
@Jesus312Fishing
9 ай бұрын
I will just bleed them out right after catching them.
