Atticus, thank you so much for the videos you post.
VERY nice, thank you Atticus! I always enjoy listening to Andy Schumm, in particular, though they ALL sounded great. Of course, it goes without saying that I wish I were there, but if I can't be there, your videos are the next best thing! Again, many thanks! :^D 🎺
What a wonderful set! The version of Snake Rag was outstanding; well done everyone! ☺
it's wonderful listening and watching this music that I used to listen from old bad quality records ....this music is part of my life since I was 14 ,I've been a clarinet player and nowadays I play cornet and trombone

Hola Leon; esta semana estube ocupado visitando doctores ya que necesito una receta para zapatos que osamos los diabeticos! Hoy en dia todo se complica! lol
4:55 That drummer really know how to syncopate! Even the clarinetist had to acknowledge!
Thank you so much Atticus por this live performance! very according to the "new orleans" style from past years. Those people who is interested in the 2nd trumpet performed by Louis Armstrong will be glad because the microphone of the video is very close to Andy Schumm who is playing the "Satchmo role" in this video.

@@Edits_MirissPerhaps they switch parts later, but in the first number ‘Just Gone’ Andy is definitely playing the 2nd cornet part, which means Armstrong.
My dad was a trombonist one of the founder members of the Tees Valley Jazz men , played a hell of a lot of King Oliver stuff . Louis Armstrong polished his technique with Oliver , what an exciting times it must of been for brass musicians all what we hear now was just being born , a musical mix of all genre of music that came together with ragtime and blues . I was born far too late 😊
Muy buena recreaciòn del viejo estilo New Orleans , la polifonià es lograda en gran forma.

Clásico dúo de las orquestas de aquellos años...corneta/trompeta. Muy tradicional !!!
Centennial Anniversary of the King Oliver recording sessions! Just celebrated Dippermouth Blues a few days ago turning 100!
Appreciate that this performance has been presented. Moments in early recorded history of music we all know and care to, and yes, care to have preserved for others to enjoy now and in future years. Thanks so much for posting this "happening". It sure was and is....
Great performance. Happy music!!!
The 'Lincoln Gardens' comes to Whitley Bay !! Excellent !
Great music assembly as always!
I love watching all of the groups on KZread here in Australia but I feel the experience could be enhanced by elevating the camera to enable the viewers to see the back line musicians as well as the front line. Cheers, John Anderson Bairnsdale Victoria Australia.

john anderson it’s not possible without spoiling the view for all the people sitting behind unfortunately! It’s well worth a trip in person for sure though.
Boeddinghausen is a little village in the german "Sauerland"...

Matthias Seuffert plays a German system clarinet (Albert). and that is rare in the US

The old guys did it too (Bechet, Dodds and in the beginning Nicholas, but he changed the system in Egypt 1929, when his clarinet was stolen and he could get only a Boehm one. So he told me in 1968).

They used Selmer clarinets with the Albert System, using a French mouthpiece
which trumpeter actually plays all those nice solos?
