    “The symptoms of hibernating are easily detectable: first, restlessness. The second symptom (when hibernating becomes dangerous and might degenerate into death): absence of pleasure. That is all. It appears like an innocuous illness. Monotony, boredom, death. Millions live like this (or die like this) without knowing it... And then some shock treatment takes place, a person, a book, a song, and it awakens them and saves them from death. Some never awaken.” ― Anaïs Nin

    What I love about King Krule's music is it has such a nihilist vibe to it. You can never tell if it is happy or sad. It is music that makes you feel as if you are drifting through life. Anyone else nihilist?

    +Jake Dubs It's funny how the definition of the term nihilism has been deformed by pop culture, most people now have the notion that the term alludes to a psychological state rather than a philosophical interpretation of the world. Nihilism isn't a vibe, it isn't something that can be felt, it's an abstract idea.

  • @jakedubs

    @jakedubs

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Manuel Aljibes Rosas what I mean is that the music gives the impression (vibe) of drifting through life with no meaning. For instance a ukulele song would give most people a happy "vibe" or an optimistic view of life. To me, King Krule's music is a mix of both sad and happy which gives off a nihilistic effect. Nihilism by definition is basically a rejection of any meaning to life.

    King Krule is the change we need. It completes the Artist's Triangle: great sound, great poetry, and great visual symbolism. I see video's this good in the indie corner of the world all the time. Im a Posthardcore Metalcore musician and usally only like those type of songs,but man this is freaking good music guys! i like it sounds like good stuff to get stoned to and think about the words in your music and the whole flow of it. great man,ive you could do this with some acoustic and still have the background music itd be really awesome.
