This positivity is refreshing. It's been a while since I listened to female rap without being embarrassed. I almost forgot that I grew up on Hiphop until Gangsta Rap ruined it for me. Latifah, Monie, Lyte, Yoyo, Heavy D, Redhead, Kid'n Play , Rakim etc. I remember how hiphop peaked when men, women, straight, gay and kids came together to dance to Hiphouse! That movement was fire. Lyte's" Ice cream Dream," Jody Watley's "Friends" video, Monie Love's "Ring My Bell " and only a few other projects embody that great period in Hiphop. This is how I want to remember rap in my mind - forever.
