In 1996 the British Technion Society (Technion UK) presented, the late King Hussein of Jordan (1952-1999) with the Winston Churchill Award in London. Upon accepting the award Hussein speaks of Technion-Israel Institute of Technology as a beacon of knowledge in the region with great achievements, the peace between Jordan and Israel and his fervent hope for future peace in the entire Middle East.
