King Charles gifted pen “just in case” after his frustrations make headlines
King Charles III managed to make light of a frustrating moment from earlier in the week, after he was gifted a pen by Cardiff well-wishers during a visit to Wales, U.K. on Friday.
In a light-hearted response to the incident, a well-wisher in Cardiff handed the King a pen, saying “just in case.” Charles appeared amused at the gesture, laughing as he accepted the gift and continued to shake hands with people in the crowd.
On Tuesday, the new monarch vented his frustration at a leaky pen during a signing ceremony in Northern Ireland - the second time that he’s made headlines over pens in recent days, after showing visible irritation at a box of pens during historic proceedings.
While signing a visitors' book in front of cameras at Hillsborough Castle near Belfast, Charles reacted in frustration when a pen he was using leaked on his hand.
"Oh god, I hate this!" Charles said, standing up and handing the pen to his wife and Queen Consort Camilla before walking away. "I can't bear this bloody thing... every stinking time.”

Now he just needs to work on what day it is.
It was rather touching to see how the lady in the crowd got him to laugh a bit. Now that the ten days are over, I do hope he gets a little time to himself to recover.

No doubt Diana being 16 and him 29 yo at the time got him to laugh as well, then he did the touching.
Snapping at the help is not a good look for King Charles, but give the man a modern implement with which to sign the ceremonial papers!
The Pen is Mightier than the Sword. Let’s hope he doesn’t stab anyone if it doesn’t work.

Prior to the Queen passing I wasn't a huge fan of Charles. However, watching everything he has been through and how he is handling this transition I have the utmost respect for him and I wish nothing but the best for his reign. He's doing a phenomenal job maintaining and handling himself. Imagine all the pressure and stress along with grief.

He's a human person born into a bizarre and unnatural way of life through no fault or choice of his own. Maybe he doesn't have the same problems I do, but I can sympathise with him nonetheless.

It probably says something about how hot tempered I am, but I thought his reaction was quite restrained and dignified in the face of that. I've thrown malfunctioning pens into the garbage can from across the room before. Lol.
