As an Englishman living in the UK, I can tell you that I have never and will never complain about our monarchy. It is the greatest institution that we have left in this country as virtually all our other institutions have been mucked about with so much and emasculated, if not destroyed. Our Constitutional Monarchy gives us unique stability as a nation and stops the politicians getting above themselves, and I give thanks to God for our wonderful and selfless monarchy every single day!

I don't think the Scandinavian countries do it too badly. Norway, Sweden and Denmark all have remarkable soldiers who honour their Kings in a similar way. We just don't get to see it much.
