not accurate translation you see in japanese it was "Kimi no name wa..."("君の名前は..." this would translate to: "your(=kimi no) name(=namae) is(=ha)..."[the movie cuts here] which is ambiguous it may be a question, it can also be that they would say each others names at the end of this sentence)

7 years ago when this came out, I was in early high school. I remember pirating the movie, and when it came to the west I loved it so much I went and saw it in theaters. My family had this old piano, that was and still is out of key, and I would come home and try to learn this song after school by watching this and the tutorial version of the video. I had no piano experience, and even when I printed the sheet music I had to write all the notes because I couldn't read. I just watched the movie again, I'm now 22 and fresh out of college, the same as Taki at the end of the movie. I knew that I had to come back and listen to this while I prepare my lunch for work tomorrow. It's funny how time flies. Thank you for your amazing music and for being there throughout the years

I've always wanted a piano, and I always cry when I see someone play emotional songs on the instrument. I just wish I had one.... It's one thing I would never forget.

I was walking through a field near my house around 5-6 pm (sunset hour) and this cover started playing on my headphones. I couldn't help myself and started crying, I remembered the movie but also the melodie is so beautiful and gives you the vibe of melancholy when you hear it. "It was, after all, a beautiful thing to watch".

It's been 4 years and it's still a MASTERPIECE

This song means so much for me... I was waiting for this movie for so long, I went to see it the day it got released in my country. I had the chance to watch it with my best friend that I've know for all my life, and my girlfriend at that time (my very first and only girlfriend I've ever had), who's the only only I've ever loved and I still am. When we got to this part of the movie, I just looked at her and realised that I loved her, I just genuinely loved her and just said "I love you". I was so happy because I got to see this fantastic movie with the two most important people in my life! Espcially this part, this music... Then few month later... I learned that my best friend finally pasted away because of his cancer. I was so sad, so mad because of this and because of the fact that I didn't like my engineering school or the situation in my home. I didn't manage to bear all of this, and thus got great consequences on my relationship. Then 5 months later I got dumped... Isn't it ironical, I got to see this movie with the two persons I love the most... And now... I can't watch it anymore with neither of them... I mean, this song is all about soulmates and the loved ones... I can't stop crying anymore when I listen to this song. And it is worse when I'm listening to this version :'( .

If you listen to this with your eyes closed, it's like suddenly your life is so much bigger than you thought it was. The universe opens up to you, reminds you of how vast it is, of all the things it holds, all its secrets. You feel like you are looking into the soul of what it means to exist, to be. And then the song is over and you're back in real life, back sprawled on a couch, standing at a bus stop, lying in bed, and it's like it never happened, like the magic you sensed had just been stripped away from you. I come to yearn for that feeling of magic again, I become addicted to it. I don't want it to end. But then it does, and I'm left feeling a little emptier than the moment before. Music is a very powerful thing, I don't think enough people understand or appreciate that. Hey man, that's what I used to think as well. But you know, we fail so much. There are so many things that we can't do, we don't have control over. I watch many anime but this is one of the movies I can't just shrug off, which really works me up. This movie was beautiful. But tbh, I kinda wished the body-swapping real life part were longer cause that was the part in the movie that didn't tramp on my feelings. And it was humorous, especially Mitsuha in Takis body was really cute.

This is my favorite music from the whole movie, the melodie is just perfect for the scene and the orchestra in the climax of the song is amazing

My 6 year wedding anniversary is coming up this April. I fell in love with this rendition so much that I asked my wife to let us play this as our processional song instead of the typical Canon or other traditional wedding instrumentals. Everybody thought it was so beautiful- little did they know it was from an anime. @Theishter, thank you for what you do. This song will forever be a beautiful memory.

This song makes me feel like everything in world happens for a reason and no matter how twisted it is, the lesson and reward is always there.

I can't believe it took me 5 years to finally watch thr anime. Back when it was aired in the cinemas, I keep on ignoring it. Damn you self🤧. This has became my favorite entertainment of all tine🥺. Even if it took me 5 years to watch it, i know it is meant for me to watch it. I am not late y'all. It's just the right time for me to watch it☺️💗💖

I just now got around to watching this movie. At first, I thought it was kinda weird and boring, but after watching for some time, it touched something deep inside of me. When the ending rolled around, I had tears in my eyes. That was when I realized that this movie is a true masterpiece. I can`t seem to forget it, even though it has been days since I watched it. This song in particular has been circulating around inside my head, and I can`t stop thinking about it. What a movie... If you haven`t watched this yet, do yourself a favor and go out and watch it right now. It will move you, make you laugh, make you cry, and that much I can promise. Truly a masterpiece, and I will probably never forget this movie!

This movie deserve a place in Oscar nominees. Its pretty competitive this year; Zootopia, Kubo, Finding Dory, upcoming Moana.. damn.. But if I have to pick; I choose this movie :)

God, how I love this anime, it's my favorite in a difficult situation of my life, it caught my eye and became my first anime that I watched at a conscious age and changed my attitude to the anime genre, when I hear this music, I just start crying "Your name" will always be mine favorite anime Makoto shinkai thank you for this wonderful anime

I can play this song ok. I watched this guy and suddenly every emotion I felt when watching Kimi no wa came flooding back. He can play this song beautifully with emotion. Props to you man.
