I was the founder member of Kimber's Men; which I formed in June 2001. I subsequently resigned from Kimber's Men in October 2016. I had been very ill that year (nearly dying in May 2016) from Cancer. In accepting my resignation I was told I hadn't been missed in the six months whilst I was in hospital and wouldn't be missed in the future. They could have accepted my resignation and thanked me for the work I had put into the band in the 15 years since its conception. But they chose the former. So I'm working solo again and relieved to be out of a band where I was clearly disliked and not wanted.

Damn, I decided to watch Kimber's Men next year. But I like the pre 2016 Band way more. Sorry to hear that. So i guess there will be no reunion so far. Seems that I need to watch your solos instead. stay healthy

My autistic son has periodic meltdowns in the middle of the night and the only thing was comforting him was your music from the same performance. The two songs worked like a charm. KZread removed those two of the songs from this concert - Mingulay and Heave me Johnny with a touch of Yellow Submarine. can you please post it. There is nothing worse than child's tears

I've always found those two songs comforting as well. Good music. Soothes the savage breast, as they say.

Terrific song and really tells a true story of men and shipmates who sailed and ploughed a true furrow across the stormy and beautiful oceans. My book 'Steady as She Goes' tells a story of men and ships and also great girls back in the late fifties, times and ships gone forever. We sang those songs in the bars across the world especially in Japan, where we had great times.

Would it be disrespectful if the audience sang it too? If it isn’t I would’ve done so
