In retrospect, Il-Sung wasn't *that* shit of a leader, atleast compared to his son and grandson. Not to mention, he *is* the founding father of their country (aside from like the USSR), so the people might've viewed him as the reason why their country was a country in the first place. But Jong-il's funeral..... yeah no.

It's because all things considered, Kim Il-Sung wasn't *that* bad, at least compared to his son and grandson, and alot of people, westerners, North Koreans, even some South Koreans in secret, respected him to a degree. His son and grandson can die in a ditch for all anyone can care though.

@@juanjunior10 yes, he is. He's turning 101 this year. Kim Il Sung was the oldest of three brothers and he died in 1994, there was another brother who was born in 1916 but died in 1935 and Kim Kyungju, born in 1920, is the youngest.

Except that the cries are genuine tho, that's according to the defectors. North Korea under his time was considered as the good Korea because the South went into dictatorship too but compared to the North, the South is very much poorer.

Seeing the children crying like that is the most disturbing part. Sure it's a forced expression of mourning from everybody and if you're not crying like that, the repercussions could be severe but when the propaganda machine has that effect on children at such a young age, there's absolutely no doubt these people are severely brainwashed.

Most people are crying out of true emotion, crazy enough. A number of North Korean defectors have stated that from birth you're taught that the Great Leader is like a guardian angel for the entire nation. People are taught to love and respect the Great Leader more than their own parents. Most defectors leave after getting in contact with Chinese smugglers and human traffickers who usually give them food and say there's more food in China.

So bizarre that the screams and cries can be heard from the sky.

While most of the crying here was real unlike Kim Jong Il’s funeral, those who weren’t crying were still executed regardless. Typically in Asia, crying is a forced emotion when it comes to state funerals. It can be very subtle like South Korea or it can be over the top like here or when Mao Zedong died in China.
