From some research on the early years of SJ Heechul was one of five of their main vocalist. He was pretty good at hitting the high notes and the Long holds. There was an incident where his voice cracked during a live concert as has happened with many other groups and singers. The supposed fandom condemned him asking for his removal from the group and some of them even said he should just die. Because of that he lost his confidence. He was doing a lot of variety shows and although some people said he was doing his own thing, they forget that with every appearance he was promoting SJ and keeping their name and images in the public mind as he always spoke o about his group mates. The other thing people don’t seem to realize that during that time all their pay was probably still being pooled and the profits from albums may not have been enough to sustain the group’s activities so tv appearances were necessary and the best person with a big appealing comedic personality is Heechul. It really is nice to hear him sing solos. I first heard him sing with Lee Hong Ki and I became a fan of Shinee because of Heechul. I love their voices and wish them God’s blessing and strength as they deal with the loss of their brother.

SM is known for not splitting income for appearances of individual members among the team. And even if there are exceptions in the future, super junior was not one of them-- individual appearances are individual pay alone

His stylist said that Heechul often choose what he wants to wear even if the stylist is against him. It's okay if he wears a not so branded clothes, if he wants it he wears it! I love him

by the way for the people that don't know Jung Mo, he was a member of a rock band called TRAX, also he appeared with heechul in multiple shows, like this, and there was another episode of Immortal songs, where Zhoumi came too, also a fun dating show that heechul mc but one episode he came as a guest with jungmo, they made an album with each others I think, he is a close friend to heechul, Also, SM had plans for Heechul to start in a rock band, before Suju with this dude Jungmo, and they were gonna put Heechul as a leader vocalist for the rock band, and that the band was gonna sing alternative rock songs, but He rebelled against the entire management team and turned the shit upside down, because he wanted to sing hard rock. the company got mad, and they told him he needs to write a formal apology, heechul sent them a letter saying "I do not know what I did wrong but I'm writing this because you guys told me I have to." lmao the savage, then the company got more mad, they couldn't fire him because he was handsome and had lots of potential, but they removed him from the project, and then Heechul got mad even more the management team told him do you want to go back to your home town he said the women that told him so. Well it will be good to visit my hometown lmao. They thought like he gonna ask for forgiveness and Yunho and Jungmo followed him to convince him to get back and apologize. He said if they want me they should come to me not me they know where i live. And he went back to his hometown. And stayed there. Until Lee soo man himself reached out to him. I think he went to his hometown to get him back. And said to him you should try acting for now and he got into a Drama, heechul was always against the idea of debuting as an idol, but later on he accepted the idea. and later he debuted with Super Junior. and the rock band that he was gonna debut with is TRAX. so from this story you can see that jungmo is a close friend of heechul from trainees days and this was just one multiple stories about heechul rebellious era lmao

Also the guy who replaced heechul as lead vocalist lived with heechul for quite some time after sj debut. He's also vocal trainer for nct after trax not quite active anymore. His name is jay. He's 1 of 4 people that heechul named his cat after (his cat named hanjayheebum, it's from hangeng, jay, heechul, and kibum)

for me this is the best live performance of heechul so far. No flat notes! one thing that i really love about his singing style is that you can hardly hear his breath. i just can't stand singers that gave me asthma.

He do have lines. Before sorry sorry he had many parts and in the last 2 albums he have many lines. The problem was just after his U mistake he got too much hate HE asked SM to not give him lines. But he said he got his confidence back and it's clear when your see his participation in Mamacita/This is love and Devil/Magic Albums

Cécile loooonng time ago His voice cracked in a high note during the song U Live. and alot of so called "fans" asked him to leave the group coz he's not working hard and doesn't care about the group -_- they gave him a hard time to the point he left the fancafe. After that he asked LSM to not give him parts in the new album this is why he had only 3 seconds in sorry sorry

But after his return from the army he has improved his singing so much. His high note in Evasnce is amazing. M&D has amazing songs!! His SM Station songs- Narcissus and Sweet Dream are both so good. He has gained his confidence and I love that he is doing music a lot nowadays. He wrote the lyrics for M&D albums and his SM station songs. He is also producing Eve(a really old Korean rock band)'s album !!

I'm so happy that he's gained his confidence and showing his full potential ^^ He in fact has a crystal and solid voice, and his vocal range is no joke either. I remember he "jokingly" sang opera style, yet it was so good i got goosebumps. Hope he gets more chances to sing later on :D
