Amazing pieces again! And how wonderful that you Guys get to adapt your studio to your own wishes! I am 52 and hopefully soon building a new studio. But maybe I should be considering getting older into that too😅❤

I was on the fence about building a new studio. Then I had my doctor assess my health and she said I could go another 20 years, Ppphhheeewwww! Then a customer told me we only live once so I should do it. Since my boat house studio is threatened by the worsening storms I thought it best to get all my chemicals out of it and have a second back up studio in case of a direct hit from a hurricane. Hurricanes historically hit Nova Scotia every 7 years, we have had 3 in the last two years. Once it is finished in August we will probably not get a storm for years.Oh well.

Incredibly beautiful Vaughan and Jackie 👏 How exciting about the new studio, but can’t get my head around the lower kilns? a front loader like your gas kiln would be easier, but I suppose very expensive to buy new…

Just imagine a flat floor with a recess 3 inches down the shape of the lid or base, then no stand either, so it lowers the kiln 11 inches. I use a step stool to reach the bottom of my kiln which is 8 inches high so sinking it in will make changing the elements even easier. I have a call in with the kiln manufacturer to see if this is OK.

Your videos are wonderful! Thank you! Could you do a video on actually making tiles? How thick, how do you keep them flat, when do you put on the slip etc?
