I've loved KJ and this song for a long time, considering it is truly a legendary post-punk classic.
I would have done it years sooner if it wasn't in a step down tuning (DGCFAD), and since the jag isn't set up properly for that, I was getting crazy buzz. Also considering the Microfrets is a step up and a slight backbow, it definitely wouldn't have been much help here for buzzing. I assumed I just couldn't handle dropping down for tunings and accepted that, but I never remember it being this easy and clear before. I had barely any buzz, and the Jag-JC120 pairing is just begging for this perfect kind of music. Thankfully, being only a step down, the notes were usually where I'd "go" for them anyways, but the down tuning played with my foreign ears and it took a bit to get this song down.

was so surprised to find that not only did KJ play hard rock like in Eighties, but also new wave like here in LLB. loved your tone, reminds me of the The Cure, good job :)

Thanks! Credit goes to my '78 amp. A lot of new wave/post-punk artists used them.
So iconic that Roland JC, killer guitar tone you got there.

I couldn't agree more! Everyone says "the distortion in it sucks", well yeah if you play metal and should be using an Orange or Hiwatt or something. For this music? A touch of chorus/flange with the drive works perfectly, not to mention it's the best pedal-taking amp I've come across. The only solid state amp that sounds like a tube amp, I my experience.
thank for this! Not so many guitar cover of KJ on KZread
Beautiful guitar and playing

This is awesome! I love this song. I’ve been wanting to cover it for a long time. Is it in D standard tuning? Geordie Walker is brilliant. Great job!

Thanks! You'll love it. By far my favorite clean amp every created. Believe it or not the only pedals I used are a reverb and boost. The chorus, the drive..it's all from the glorious JC.

@@deroplatysmusic yeah it has a beautiful clean sound. I've had a Gretsch Electromatic for a while now and i'm only just starting to use it since injury,it sounds amazing through the JC. I hope to start teaching my daughter soon but she'll never be a Chameleons or KJ fan. Keep rockin' mate.✌
