I've known about KOD for a long time. Pretty much as long as Chams. I think, like most people, I did a search after of "What other bands that sound like The Chameleons?" and they came up first and foremost - through searches and people.
Where Dave isn't really known specifically for layering his guitars, the origins and rise of Shoegaze in the early 90s sure brought the idea of having layers on top of one another with lots of delay and reverb. In that, it was always fun to break down Julian's style, layer by layer. One day I asked myself "Why not cover Julian sometime?". The Microfrets was an obvious choice for it, but with all the layers, it was very fun to round up all the guitars I had and incorporate them into one recording.

As amazing as Julian's guitar work is, I was surprised when I didn't see any either - even in the plethora of shoegaze covers. I guess even in the alt realm, KOD is another hidden gem. Thankfully people like you and I know about them. Thanks!

As an ancient fan of this band (saw them live in '93), I salute you for even trying to attempt this. Julian's guitar sound is a bit hard to nail down, but you did an outstanding job ( though TBH, he sounded like the record live with only ONE guitar, damn!). F'n brilliant, and Thanks!

Thanks! He definitely layered himself in the studio with multiple recordings of himself, but live he sounded so full it sounded like a bunch of them, like you said! Certainly a very underrated ethereal musician in this "realm" of sonic guitar playing and walls of sound.
