LPs verse obviously written right off the bat but I love how mike is just so high and loving it that he sells out his boy, finishes verses and shit then straight up says "LP flexes with a written" I was gonna do it do one too but "fuck that lemme feel these vibes out" lol love these guys, this comment could go on forever and probably no one will see it but I'm so happy I heard this. and the chat at the end when they get real and give the love to sway is super cool, he a real one, he takes chances and sway says "our heart is in the right place" also he says "y'all are my friends, I know we don't send texts on the holidays n shit but we homies" obviously I'm paraphrasing btw for all the haters of anyone does end up reading this but this is why hip hop still exists right here man. I'm clearly ranting now and making no sense I'm sure (10 beers deep, honestly is key) but run the jewels and sway in the morning are TRUE HIP HOP/RAP whatever you wanna classify it as, they are why I love poetry mixed with a beat or a rhythm and just straight passion. the love is real, and I wish I had the balls to do what they do. mike straight up spit off the top and cut the beat (which I usually don't like)but he was so raw and real with it you can't hate. anyways if anyone out there cares to read this, hmu for real and I'll give you a freestyle, clearly I'm not a bot tryna promote my shit, just a shy guy who has bars and passion and lyricism hidden inside him. like I said them even being there is crazy to me, so nervracking but I also hope to God (not that I really believe)that someone read this ramble and shouts me out because I'll surprise myself and best of all I'll surprise you, promise I won't waste your time. insta: @cam_richardson9 p.s by the time I finished this I sobered up and almost didn't hit send lmao E.L.E shout out Jackie moon, ok that's enough I already regret this but look forward to a random message🤔😂🤦♂️

Em says the name of the song and the band right before the line in Rap God to pay homage, he says "lyrics comic at you with supersonic speed JJ Fad", JJ Fad(a band of girl rappers) was one of the first to come up with this fast flow, that now has a total genre of rappers called Choppers, check out one of JJ Fad MC-s doing the fast part on rap god /watch?v=-luDgk8IshI

When you can write like El-P, why would you even bother learning to freestyle? And even if you could, why would you bother employing it on the radio when you're only on the radio to sell albums? Might as well spit shit that you know will go well. I'm 35 and i never got why people got so mad about freestyling. or authenticity in general.

Half true. Its about the speed and versatility of the mind. How quickly your mind can react to the changing situation and the creativity capabilities of the more complex functions of the human brain. If your pretending it is that while its scripted you're a fake and deceitful not in the worst way but still and does not display the aforementioned attributes. Thats why.

praxis veritatis agreed man. But I also don’t necessarily like freestyles if they’re corny.. talk about what’s going on in those dark corners or the bright corners of your mind.. if you can’t that’s cool. And don’t. Rap a song you wrote. All good. But just be fucking honest about it

There's a lot of talk about El-P compared to Eminem for obvious reasons, the most significant being their individual talent. While the New York upbringing definitely had the one-upmanship Eminem is notorious is for; It's oranges and apples. As far as who's better: Their styles and approaches are so different on a fundamental artistic level that it's hard to compare the two. Eminem can be shocking sometimes at how long he's able to sustain a flow and turn a phrase, El-P taps into something that makes him fun to listen to (after so many interviews I guess it's the New York aspect). They're both legends in their own right, but they're not the same artist which is ultimately a good thing when it comes to getting as many voices heard as possible. Compare El-P's relationship with his mother versus Eminem for instance, just as the first example to come to mind.

VOCAL GYMNASTICS.
He's still making music. Check out his song SLAB.
El p changed the game fr fr
Killer Mike did a written too, but it was still amazing.
Killer Mike and El-P are like the greatest combination ever. What happened to SL Jones? I'd slap babies in the street to get an album full of Killer, El-P and SL Jones on top of EL-P beats
He spit "Go!"
2:26 he did it before tha rap god did it!

@Adapted MC No! Em might have watched this freestyle but the original one is from JJ Fad - Supersonic at the last 30 seconds of the song. Em says the name of the song and the band right before the line in Rap God to pay homage, he says "lyrics comic at you with supersonic speed JJ Fad", JJ Fad(a band of girl rappers) was one of the first to come up with this fast flow, that now has a total genre of rappers called Choppers, check out one of JJ Fad MC-s doing the fast part on rap god /watch?v=-luDgk8IshI

damn el-p just fuckin wrecks mics
Real fuckn nice
El-P spazzing on that Redman beat...Thats Redman "Smoke Buddah" for those that dont know...

I'll take a decent written over a freestyle any day
so much for freestylin
Thats the beat they start on
fuck yes sick!
it only depends on if you say your a freestyle rapper.
Those first two beats are two of my favorite ever. Wish he didn't go acapella.
Luuh dem dudes
Run the jewels is sick. But what i really want is either company flow back for at least one last album OR and album thats run the jewels vs company flow. I think that would be fucking sick

If you haven't found the verse since posting this, it's from the song that he featured on in Mike's album RAP Music. I believe it's called butane. Better late than never I guess. 🤷🏽♂️
schools in session let's go..
You people are aware they not every freestyle has to be right of the top of your head right? Legends like Eminem have done it.

+Superultradude123 No idea which came first though, but I will say it sounds an awful lot like a 9th beat.
theres a video on youtube where it's just a little street cypher with slug, iimmortal tech, aesop, and some other heads. ELP kills it and I am fairly positive it's not written.
What song is this it sounds familiar
What's Killer mike's beat at the start? I cant remember.

Oh lol I said that before they said it was written nevermind
Most rappers do writtens on these type of radio shows, when they don't have a written you can usually tell and it's never as good. Freestyling is hard kiddies even the pro's have to have a few rhymes in mind.
whats the beat they rap on?
Onyx - Last Dayz
