T.I., Killer Mike, and David Banner Break Down the Power of Hood Economics | Complex Current

Ойын-сауық

Killer Mike joins friends Clifford “T.I.” Harris and David Banner for an honest conversation on the economic issues facing neighborhoods of color. The rappers-turned-businessmen share their personal perspective on the importance of buying back, rebuilding, and transforming those communities for the better. In the spirit of giving back, they also discuss the value in teaching kids how to better themselves, and the benefits of working a legitimate job instead of hustling.
The Complex Current miniseries welcomes the most influential minds in fashion, art, music, sneakers and beyond in a series of lively panel discussions from our inaugural ComplexCon Chicago. We discuss the topics most relevant to today's youth in an effort to examine a deeper understanding of each other, our culture, and the passions that inspire us.

Has anyone noticed how this video doesn’t have much views, because it doesn’t depict us black people valuing invaluable things like jewelry, cars, and irrelevancies. Shit sad, these three brothers are up there giving knowledge, but no one wanna hear that bull shit right? No, wrong my indigenous brothers and sisters! Ocra Joe it’s a metaphor, I’ve read the entire bible, and the New Testament several times. I know why Jesus went to the cross. His comparisons and metaphors makes sense to the point that anyone can understand it. If you’re humble, you’ll get hurt a lot. “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” ‭‭John‬ ‭3:17-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I think we've had enough rappers, athletes and entertainers as our spokesperson especially when we didn't elect, ordain or choose them by vote. We need people to STOP TALKING and START DOING. This conversation was about how these men help each other make more money and not about how to fix a community. If someone builds me a house that doesn't teach me anything but showing me how to build my own will. We have enough preachers hyping people up and literally doing nothing for them in ALL BLACK CHURCHES so a weekly series beyond a church would turn into hypothetically change with no person in place to measure the outcome. We need more black entrepreneurs and less blacks looking for jobs. Also @TheSmith Family they held back on a ton of information because this was a conversation about their growth, their prosperity and lining their pockets so there was no need for them to add more (Being Sarcastic)

His music is great and you can hear the progress of his life in his lyrics which is rare this day and age. He definently has that motivation music. However, I hate how people shouting Nipsey this Nipsey that after he passed. Alot of his music and videos receive more than double the views when he passed. This generation has too many dickriders.

I love giving employment our people, but we have to learn as a unit of people that we have to want more for ourselves, our people are stuck, not all, but most. I have employed so many of my people, not only employed but offer full scholarships and lap tops through my business to send you back to school, but I can’t get our people to stay on the job more the 3 months to start the program that I offer, they either are terminated or leave because of lack of workmanship. You can only lead a horse to water, you can’t make them drink it. I want so much better for our people, but it’s hard trying to make them see it for themselves.. 🤦🏽‍♀️
