So this was my grandfather's plane, Q for Queen. Him and all crew baled out and survived this incident (though the entire crew did not survive the war). The pilot and navigator realized they wouldn't make any field and the pilot ordered them to bale out. They received flak over Stuttgart that put a "hole the size of a washtub" in their port wing, eventually causing them to lose too much fuel and forcing them to abandon the aircraft. He wrote a book that I'm presently editing to put online and just reached this portion of his story. Nice video!
My Dad Frank and Aunt Margaret lived at number 14 with my Grandparents George and Maud. They told me about this. My Dad was 8 at the time. Thanks so much for the video.

Well done for another brilliant video. My great grandfather Alfred Bishop, and his Brother Sam Bishop built all the houses on Trinity St,Adilade St,and Bradley more rd. My dad was about 9 when this happened, and he told me how he remembered all the wreckage in the streets, in particular the big radial engines engines and propellers. Keep up the good work mate, it's great that you're doing these videos.

I was talking to an old resident from here who told me that a resident had kept a part of the plane for a souvenir until they passed away and the new occupant found it up in the loft, handed this into the police only a few years ago, There is still damage to a wall you can see, after all these years.... A brilliant video Jamie, please do more.... Take care mate

Not sure if you was aware that it used to be called RAF Bobbington. But due to communication at the time, Radio operations was getting confused with RAF Boveington(they sounded alike over the airwaves) so the name was changed to RAF Halfpenny Green.
