It seems that all of them died quickly. That's not horrible really. Imagine what it is for example to have you legs teared off by mortar shell - you will die from bleeding in 10-15 minutes while remaining conscious and aware of what's happening for most of that time. Corpses of some guys were found with lit cigarettes... Or being trapped in your burning tank without any chance to get out. Heck charging toward enemy machine-guns behind your tanks should be way more terrifying than honest sword duel and quick death from stab into heart or decapitation (and the guys stabbed into his stomach have a chance to survive if they will be rushed to the hospital after the fight).

O-Ren had to be the coolest yakuza boss ever, of course when her American-Chinese heritages weren't shown as a negative :D Just look how laid back were her subordinates during working with her, and how nice she was, when she was drinking and having fun with them at the bar until the Bride came.

Coolest entrance ever. Of course all those cool people die shortly after that cool entrance... so maybe a lesson there...

I went to see a marathon of Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2 at a local cinema and everyone ERUPTED when those three notes hit. Absolute blast.

Definitely my favorite scene in the entire movie. I love everything about it: the music, the location, the characters, and the badass atmosphere.

this probably been said in the comments before but this is a scene of characters walking down a hallway into a restaurant/bar. This version alone has over 2M views. I mean its an amazing scene that oozes cool. Just the bad guys walking might be one of the best scenes of the whole movie is crazyness.

Notice how they walk. O-ren, like a Queen. Sohpia, the up jumped secretary, the 88, like overconfident gangstas, Gogo, eyes constantly moving, actually being the bodyguard.

It is funnier when you think how cool when they arrive but how pitiful when they leave , the difference

I always listen to it whenever I drive a car, and it has the charm of pushing the accelerator pedal to the end while driving!

This scene was the literal introduction of O'Ren's personal bodyguards, and knowing nothing about them, I couldn't WAIT for The Bride to take them all out! Lol Oh, and THIS is Tarantino's best film. Minority opinion, I know, but no other Tarantino film of his is as purely entertaining, fluid, re-watchable, or perfect as this one.

The result of which is because The Bride smartly used the table to shield herself from Gogo's weapon earlier in the fight. So The Bride inadvertently saved herself because of her earlier quick-thinking.

I think I understand why this scene get so many positive marks. O-Ren Ishii with small part of her army looks like people who scares nothing all in this world. We see it in their eyes. It so dangerous and scary then such people gathering in one place at one moment. PS. R.I.P. O-Ren-san!

I like how Gogo wears teh schoolgirl uniform as HER clothes, always. Never does she change ? No other dresses ? No other clothes for a night on the town with her boss and work buddies ? "Charry Brown-shan Choo-choo." Charlie Brown shoulda laid one on her.

My impression is that she's the chief bodyguard, and this is work, not a night on the town. This is not like a bunch of salarymen and office ladies kicking back drinks after work. Notice that the other Crazy 88 bodyguards are all dressed the same, even the women. Gogo's uniform sets her apart and seems to be a play on the schoolgirl fetish that's pretty well documented in Japan.

When they enter the club, we can see that the mooks are walking casually with their weapons slung over their shoulders and leering. One is even blowing a bubble with bubblegum. Gogo, on the other hand, walks like a robot looking straight ahead. In the next scene, we see them lounging around and cracking dirty jokes. We can see that Gogo grins at their jokes, but she's not lounging around like they are. She's sitting seiza-style. That means she's there on a job.

Those who love Gogo should watch Battle Royale. She is also a killer with no mercy in this awesome film where high school students kill each other until final one survivor.
